If it's crap ... We'll tell you

Ironman 3 was far from sucking...
And let's just get over it, Ironman comic fans: The Mandarin was NOT that interesting enough a villain on his own to carry an entire movie like he did in the comics (as the mildly offensive caricature that'd rival Mickey Rooney from Breakfast At Tiffany's) or even the manner in which he was portrayed in this one. Hell for all the pissing and moaning about the twist, I'm surprised how people DIDN'T see something like that coming. It's your classic "AH HA, but here's the BIGGER baddie!" curtain reveal, and in this one it was done pretty well. It wouldn't say it was BLATANTLY obvious, but clues and red herrings were there. And to me, given the new villains motivations throughout, it worked.
Staying "true" to the source material and doing what's RIGHT for an adaptation are two different things, not the same. By NATURE it shouldn't be/not going to be just a carbon copy of where it came from; rather it should be ADAPTED to flow with the story/theme/continuity/etc. of the new incarnation naturally. So to me, there was really nowhere to take The Mandarin but to where he went and the twist ending up making Tony's arc more complete.
@The GodDamn Fatman Yep, loved both movies.
