Yeah the first few minutes are rough on the eyes, but if you're watching it in 3D you'll benefit from it. If you're not watching 3D, stick with good ol' 2D 24fps

Honestly, the 48 fps isn't bad at all. Just the first 5 minutes it was distracting, after that it was fine.
