I think she did just fine. Is there a Loki/Sif angle to come in this movie? I haven't heard of it but if so it would be hard for her to reach the acting qualities of Tom Hiddleston. He's a stage actor, and a Branagh protegé for a reason while Alexander is a Disney channel product.
But I give her a chance, I never though for instance she could make a perfect english accent but she did it. She works a lot, and hey Branagh chose HER knowing she wasn't the greatest young actress out there. And I think she made more as Sif than Portman did as Foster.
Her character had few interactions with Thor but she felt more believable as Thor's female warrior friend than Nathalie Portman as a love interest. I know some people think Jane Foster's hatred is unjustified but she's the weakest performance of the whole first movie. And I can't believe the writers were able to create a believable Sif and couldn't make me believe in Jane. This was probably more about Portman's work than the script or the editing. Maybe she wasn't ready for this and will improve for the second instalment, at least I hope. She better shine this time!
But yeah, of course Alanxander could have played her part easily but as said I give her a chance because she seems to work for her role instead of sleepwalking next to the warriors three and Thor showcasing her beautiful body.
