Comment by Happy Birthday Roboto on December 18, 2012 at 9:45am To be honest, the only reason I knew what Fifty Shades of grey was was because of all the adverts, I've never heard anyone talk about it! To use an exampled I'm familiar with, Friends by your logic, is a "white people" thing because it features mostly white people and I never heard a coloured person talk about it and maybe it is!
I have a problem when a person is given a job or included for no other reason than their ethnicity, but I believe FICTIONAL characters and stories should be as diverse as circumstances allow (and I've been called ignorant for thinking so)!
Perhaps the circumstances of Fifty Shades of grey allowed for little diversity? Not everything can be Modern Family!

Comment by Happy Birthday Roboto on December 18, 2012 at 8:21am Arsene, I'm not making a stupid joke or being sarcastic, but why is Fifty Shades of grey a "white people" thing? It's an erotic story set in America as written by a Brit, wouldn't that make it a "people" thing or at least an "American" or possibly "British" thing?
