There was just something charming about him that kept me coming back. His enthusiasm and passion for video games as well as other mediums inspires me to expand my tastes and hobbies. Your podcast was the first I heard of his leaving, and right then I said "I'm done with G4"...
I'm 50/50, I don't think expanding on the existing ending is going to fix any of the problems, but at the same time I don't see how it could possibly get worse.
I don't think expanding on it is the way to go, simply removing "Casper The Genocidal Ghost" solves 90% of the ending's problems. Plus I read a few tweets from Patrick Weekes, I'm sure the ending came from the minds of Casey Hudson and Mac Walters, I still don't know what they were trying to pull off but I'm sure the other writers don't like the ending either.
My God, congratulations on completing Emi's arc! I must confess that I've been so busy lately with other VNs (and conventional video game releases, of course - I haven't quite abandoned those just yet) that I haven't had the time to keep up with Bloody Thumbs. You'll have to point me to which episode it was that has your recommendation, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the game.
In any case, it goes without saying that KS is definitely a game worth completing 100%. It seems that Emi's arc is the easiest to complete first, due to the choice in the scene "Exercise" potentially locking you into it halfway through Act I, but fortunately it's a really great arc. But definitely go back for Hanako's, that's actually my personal favorite route (Lilly is indubitably the best girl in the game, though).
