CO-HOST!!!! I've been on this site for a while, just not that much of an active member. But I'm just now catching up on the LDTs cus I was really busy April thru July. Anyway, just heard the July 5 one .FIrst of all, I love that all you guys loved Gatsby cause most critics slammed it. I think it's been the best movie of the year so far (have not seen Mud yet though). But I was so happy to hear how much you liked the Gatsby soundtrack. It's literally been my summer playlist, I'm just constantly playing it on repeat. Anyway just wanted to let you know. I also actually wrote a review of Gatsby that I'd be happy to send you guys if you're interested. But anyway, just really happy to hear someone else who loves the soundtrack.
The reason why I love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book and movie series is because my life is a lot like Greg´s so it´s fun to relate to him because Greg and I are easygoing guys who are a little bit unpopular in school and don´t have that many friends there.
Anyway back in January 2009, I auditioned to play the role of Greg Heffley. I even called Jeff Kinney, the author and illustrator of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books through Whitepages.com to ask him if I could audition for the part and he said that kids with Cerebral Palsy were welcome to audition to play Greg for the 3 movies.
So one day, my 7th grade math teacher Ms. Coyne filmed my audition in her classroom with my classmates and she sent it to the producers of the movie through a website called Actorcast.com. I waited 6 months to get a phone call or an e-mail from them.
Unfortunately, I didn’t win the role that I was dreaming of playing because I turned 14 years old once filming began and despite being 4 feet tall. I could only stick around for one movie and some other talented and younger movie actor would have to replace me in the sequel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 Rodrick Rules but the movie wouldn’t make $87 million because fans would still miss me.
Well if I won the audtion I was hoping that the writers would re-write the character of Greg Heffley and make him be born with Cerebral Palsy with moderate Spastic Quadriplegia to make the movie more emotional and hopefully my optimism, likeableness and my great improvisation skills would help the fans of the books accept me as Greg so the movie wouldn't make just $1,065,907.
Nevertheless, I’m happy that my audition got 3½ stars out of 5 and I also like Zachary Gordon because this talented and wonderful actor likes the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books too and he also plays the role of Greg Heffley in a similar way that I would of if I got the chance to play Greg Heffley 4 or 7 years ago.
Now you know the story of the Wimpy Kid that would of been.
This is the answer that Korey has been looking for since March 2011. Please talk to him about it.
co host just read the comments for percy Jackson dam those guys were mad bout ur review and I don't kno why. I knew that movie was gonna be shit and before I went to listen to.the review I knew u or korey was gonna rip it a new asshole
I would just like to say that my comment was misinterpreted. I didn't mean to start a comment war. I wasn't being mean.
What I meant to say was that that the way you express you dislike for some movies makes you come off as unlikeable sometimes. Nevertheless I respect your opinion and I'm not a Percy Jackson fan to start with.
