I heard about the Capt. Ferris? Green Lantern's love interest (who I guess, is also Star Saphire),
I missed the Wayne Enterprises logo on the satelite Gen. Zod rips apart in space.
I guess there were all kinds of references to Smallville, & Superman comic creators, artists,
Superman comic references Krypton's moon: Check this out
Seth, I LOVED "Man of Steel"! It was better than I thought it was going to be!*I hope we see sequels from THIS team (Cavill, Snyder, Nolan, Goyer)!*
I Loved the "Lexcorp" fuel tankers!
I had always thought, since that movie was so old & Tarantino is a movie buff,
he was paying an homage, a lil' wink to the audience with the weapon selection scene:
The Hammer: from "The Toolbox Murders"
The Baseball Bat: "Walking Tall", "The Warriors" & "The Untouchables"
The Chainsaw: "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
The Samurai Sword: "Shogun Assassin", "Sanjuro", "Lady Snowblood", et al
I enjoyed Looper, but I got a kick out of THIS (stay to the very end)!
We're gonna try to see Man of Steel this weekend, too!
Man!!!! Those are AWFUL!!!
*some sound like VHS tapes I rented in the 80's!*
Here is your moment of Zen.
Haha "Chosen Survivors" reminds me of "Deep Impact" meets "Nightwing".
I love "Razorback", you might like "Chawz" .
Here is your moment of Zen (I don't agree with this, but it made me laugh so hard!)
Hmmm of the top of my head, I LOVE these quirky films:
Rolling ThunderRed Sun
The White Buffalo
Walking Tall
Mr. Majestyk
The Green Slime
Goke: Body Snatcher from Hell
The Wanderers
Nighthawks
The Soldier
The Hidden
Bronson
Rise of the Footsoldier
The Business
The Sweeney
YESSS!!! "SORCERER" RULES!
I saw this in the theater & it is AMAZING, one of my all time favorite movies!
I've been singing this movies praises for years, and
it's funny how a lot of critics TRASHED the film when it came out & have
now RECANTED their statements, this film has seemingly gotten "better" with age!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who LOVED this movie from the start:
Roger Ebert, Quentin Tarantino & Stephen King on "Sorcerer"
Universal Home Ent. put out a disappointing "pan and scan" DVD,
but Thank Goodness! Friedkin is working on an orig. print of the film for blu ray restoration!
KEEPING FINGERS CROSSED!
Haha, I often find myself in movie scenarios in nightmares,
mostly bad zombie movies! Here is your moment of Zen.
Sounds, hectic, but fun!
The sevice went great, we watched "Downfall" & "The Thin Red Line".
Congrats! on a job well done! I hope you two are very happy together!
hmmm ..."Letters From Iwo Jima" and "We Were Soldiers" come to mind.
then there is:
The Four Days of Naples WW II from the Italian perspective &
Come and See WW II from the Russian perspective
& for WW II from the German perspective, you should check out:
The Bridge
Downfall
& of course there's Das Boot , but try to find this 5 hour uncut orig. TV miniseries- the film was cut down from.
3 amazing war films from the Korean perspective are:
My Way about World War II
Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War about the Korean War
The Front Line also about the Korean War
I LOVE those shows, too, Seth!*of course "Band of Brothers" & "The Pacific" are at the top of my list!*
Good luck with the proposal,
and at the flea market (sounds like fun!)
*Scary stuff (the snake venom!)*
We will go see "Star Trek", maybe another film, have a BBQ, go throw the football & play some frisbee golf,
watch some history channel & war movies at home,
& we will attend a memorial service on monday (my son is performing with the pipe band).
How bout you? any plans (besides "Fast 6")?
Haha, YES! In elementary school the teachers knew I was an artist,
so I brought in some of my magazine covers & did a drawing demonstration,
NOTHING impresses kids more if you can draw elephants, giraffes & esp. T-Rexs!
Dude, you might have a different job by then, but irregardless just approach any
occupation with pride, place the focus on what you do = helping sick people,
I'm sure ALL kids have been to a pharmacy with their moms, so they can relate to what you do!
Have a great weekend!
Haha, LOVE it! *It's SO BAAAAAAD, it's good!*
hmmm for Indian Michael Jackson I prefer THIS!
Speaking of bad Indian movie scenes
And for a stinker of a movie fight scene there's THIS
My wife always drew little notes for my boys school lunches (elementary school),
and on for mondays (sunday night) she'd have me draw the notes,
(personal greetings from Hulk, Spiderman, Ultraman, Godzilla, Superman, Goku, Ninja Turtles, etc.)
*My boys still have some of their favorites*
Another talent I have, is making my boys open faced peanut butter sandwiches,
which I would then draw (with a butter knife) faces of their favorite characters
Spiderman, Hulk, Ultraman, Goku, Superman, etc.
*The key is to spread it on thick and smooth the surface to have a blank "canvas" to draw on*
Here's your moment of zen
Yes, Drew Struzan! I also liked Jack Davis' stuff.
Plus I LOVE the work by all these guys: Movie Poster Artists
Yes, I have to admit we used to spend up to an hour at the old video store picking
our weekends movie selections. We would pick based on who was in it, what we felt like
(agree upon) mostly comedies & action. Before I wasmarried,
def. YES! the cover art would influence my buddies & I,
but also by reading magazines like: Starlog , Fangoria , Cinefex ,
Cinefantastique , Science Fantasy Film Classics , & Famous Monsters of Filmland
we would learn about upcoming Sci-Fi & Horror films.
So true! In this day and age of photoshop all movie posters and movie covers look the same!
and here's PROOF!
What happened to the good old days?
Like This? or This? or even This?
Yes, the sword fight in "Jason" is still Amazing!
I'll bet they have another reference to Harryhausen in "Monsters University".
I have fond memories of watching monster movies on crappy TVs,
*even funnier are crappy monster movies on crappy TVs!*
Not really any road trips, kind of a boring summer (broke$).
Very sad news on Ray Harryhausen, I was moved to write This
Even though "Jason and the Argonauts" was his magnum opus,
I'm partial to the dinosaur movies "One Millin Years B.C." & "The Valley of Gwangi".
How bout you?
There you go! *Bonus points to Seth!*
Speaking of Swamp Thing, here is an amazing Swamp Thing collection
