MONSTERS: Aliens in Mexico somehow.
SKYLINE: Came out last year, aliens invading, oh no, again?
I AM NUMBER FOUR: Aliens are hiding on Earth.
BATTLE LOS ANGELES: Aliens invading LA, shocker.
PAUL: a very E.T. looking movie, you know, for potheads
THE THING: another one? do we really need to do this one again?
COWBOYS & ALIENS: well, at least its a little orginal
APOLLO 18: the plot of this movie makes me giggle
THE DARKEST HOUR (couldn't find any pics): yeah, aliens invade Russia...yeah
SUPER 8: the plot of this one is pretty ironic in relation to this blog post.most likely its going to have aliens in it.
IRON SKY: Nazis colonized on the moon, and aliens...wow
BATTLESHIP: yeah, you know, that board game you played as a kid? well theyre making it into a movie, and aliens attack in it.
MEN IN BLACK 3: yep, its coming
MARS NEEDS MOMS: gotta have one for the kids!
TRANSFORMERS: DARK SIDE OF THE MOON: hey, theyre robots from outer space! that makes this an alien flick
ALIEN 5: this is mostly rumors right now, but it does look like its getting made to milk for more money.
PREDATORS 2: Robert Rodriguez has confirmed that this one is in development, so should be interesting to see.
So most of these films are for 2011. Man, aliens are invading theaters! (ouch, yeah, sorry for that line. i made the "icky" face after i typed it and im too lazy to delete it to come up with something more cleaver).
At least a few of these look worth checking out. Which ones are you excited for?

Comment by Hi, My Name's Matty on February 9, 2011 at 8:07am I don't think aliens ever went away. Zombies have been a big deal, because of that one summer when we got Sean of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later and Land of the Dead. Three of those were quite popular and the other may have flopped, but still caused a lot of talk because it was Romero's return to hid "Dead" franchise after it had been laid to rest for decades. I'm sure there were zombie films here and there during the dark period, but they were underground films. Either straight to video, cable or very limited unpublicized screenings.
But I could name a ton of mainstream alien movies from the past decade. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Jennifer's Body, The Transformers movies, Monsters Vs Aliens, Aliens Vs Predator, Predators, Planet 51, District 9, Battle for Terra, Star Trek if you want to count it, The Fourth Kind, Aliens in the Attic, Superman and the Silver Surfer and Venom from Spider-Man 3 if you want to count them, War of the Worlds and The Invasion just off the top of my head. Some were less successful than others, but they were generally mainstream films that were well advertised.
I saw the trailer for Paul. It looks unwatchable.
