If it's crap ... We'll tell you
While her Batman-meets-The-Professional action flick 'Columbiana' opens over the nation (listen to our audio review HERE), actress Zoe Saldana has inked a deal with Paramount to star and produce in the supernatural thriller 'Dominion'.
Little is known about the plot of the film - written by Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings - other than a small tidbit about the main character (Saldana) being a vengeful young woman who is actually half-human, half-angel. McCreary and Hastings are both relatively new writers, having only previously written the short film 'Fanboy' (about the world's biggest Sam Raimi fan) and their current project, another supernatural thriller called 'She's My Angel' about a lovelorn man who battles the spiritual realm for the heart of the woman he loves.
Not to be confused with the 'Exorcist' prequel from 2005... or the upcoming robotic soldier film from Dreamworks... or even the recently announced Grant Morrison film about dinosaurs and aliens, Saldana's 'Dominion' will be co-produced alongside Robbie Brenner ('Serendipity', 'Alien vs. Predator: Requiem'). Saldana herself recently finished shooting on 'The Words' with co-star Bradley Cooper, and is expected to reprise her roles in the inevitable 'Star Trek' and 'Avatar' sequels. As long as one or more of these films involves a long scene where Saldana is pitted in deadly combat against a sandwich, I think we'll be okay.
