X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE Uncaged Edition Video Game Review for the X-Box 360

I was at my usual first stop of Monday morning, My local movie and game rental store when I saw the Wolverine game. I thought to myself is this going be as disappointing as the movie was for me and I got to tell you I was surprised how it turned out.

First I want to talk about the violence in this game. Its rated Mature which made me wonder because the movie was not bloody at all, but the game is brutal. They seem to overcompensate with the blood and gore that the movie was lacking it reminded me of the Punisher game a few years ago, that came out when the movie (Thomas Jane) did. The big difference is that the main story line if you want to call it that is much like the movie with a little extra to make it last longer. Like the Punisher game there are certain places that you can use to kill your enemies such as spikes on the ground and walls, glass objects, and electric panels these are called environment kills. You can be spiked as well if you are not careful.

The Graphics are pretty nice, the environment is lush with lots of breakable objects. When you take enough damage you can see it on your body the adamantium covering your bones shine through the ravaged skin. Your enemies aren't so lucky along with the regular attacks you would expect Wolverine to do he does even more violent one's including decapitation, slicing of the arms, and legs.

Those awesome moves are just a few of the surprisingly long list of combos you have at your disposal. It can get a little repetitive but this game makes slicing and cutting people so much fun to do. Along with those there are special moves like Claw Spin, Claw Drill, and Claw Cyclone.

Just to let you know what kind of game this is in the first minute on the first level you have to jump from the helicopter carrying you dodge bombs and if you line it up correctly land on one of your opponents making him explode in the crash leaving only a torso and a blood soaked Logan.

I give it 3 Adamantium Blades out of 5 a High Rental in the Spill world.
Thanks for reading my first review.

I'll say this. The FOX formula of stuffing characters into a video game works because as you play, the designer has more plot and story to develop, while as a movie format must be finite.

I'm going for full price, I really loved it. It has better action scenes then the movie. It did start a little slow but the set pieces really lift it to pure awesome. I would of liked to scale the Sentinel to make that fight more epic
