If it's crap ... We'll tell you
I have to applaud the almost William Castle/Roger Corman lengths to which David Fincher is going to promote his film 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.' The movie is a remake of the 2009 Swedish film based on Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel. In this latest piece of marketing, from the film's viral site Mouth Taped Shut, an entire fake, late 80s 'Hard Copy' segment is recreated and then made to look as if it were taped from TV; replete with classic commercial snippets and tracking lines. If you don't remember 'Hard Copy,' it was basically a sensationalist news program that ran from 1989 to 1999. This video lends interesting context to the film and provides us with a unique introduction to its exposition. Nothing is really spoiled other than the setup. Check it out below and let us know if it gets you psyched to see 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.'
