So, 2010 is almost at an end. Christmas is just around the corner and I'm sure we've all played the best games of the year (Red Dead Redemption, God of War 3, the list goes on),  but what do we have to look forward to next year? Well, I'm here to compile a list of what's coming and what we know so far. Oh, and I'm keeping off some of the ones that nobody knows anything about, like, say, Mass Effect 3.

1.) Batman: Arkham City

After the massive incident of Arkham Asylum, the mayor of Gotham came up with a brilliant idea: Let's give the psychopaths their own section of the city! They walled in a portion of Gotham and dumped all the filth in it to do whatever they want, on one condition: They don't try to escape. So expect more villains (Two-Face, The Black Mask, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, etc.), more gadgets (smoke bombs, some... rope thingy, bats that distract your enemies), and more ways to brutalize your opponents (double counters and interrogations) in the first free-roam Batman game ever. Can't fu**ing wait.

(It hasn't been announced that it's free-roam, it's a educated guess)

2.) Dead Space 2

This one's coming soon, folks. A sequel to 2009's shit-your-pants-scary horror game, this one looks to be just as intense. You still play as Isaac Clarke, the (SPOILERS, PEOPLE) sole survivor of the USG Ishimura incident, where a piece of a cracked world was brought aboard a ship made for harvesting planets resources. Too bad hellish aliens and a freakishly obsessive cult came with it. The new game sticks to the same over-the-shoulder principles of the first, with more weapons to dismember your necromorphic foes throughout The Sprawl, a massive city planted on one of Saturn's moons. The demo is on Xbox Live and The Playstation Network (is that what it's called?) now, if you feel like giving it a try.

3.) Crysis 2

This is one of those games that has been delayed and delayed and delayed throughout the years, leading to intense hype over the actual release. I myself am not too excited, but it does look like a badass and GORGEOUS game to most people. You play as... a dude in a massive ass combat armor suit who fights aliens in a semi-obliterated New York City. I mean, come on. Sounds pretty cool. You're given abilities like super speed, super strength and invisibility through the suit you wear to tackle each battle in your own unique way. And if I'm reading into this correctly, the game comes with a mind-blowingly awesome level editor the likes of which has never been seen, powered by Cryengine 3, the engine that fuels the beautiful graphics of the game. Sounds interesting.

4.) Gears of War 3

Can't have a games list without one of the biggest upcoming titles. This game marks an end to the Gears trilogy, games that were fueled by an amazing story, intense and thoughtful dialogue and long, breathtakingly emotional cutscenes.

Just kidding, it's about muscled badasses shooting underground lizard people in the face and ripping them apart with chainsaws that are attached to their machine guns. This game obviously continues the trend, it just does what most sequels do: gives you more guns (the new sawed-off shotgun is looking mighty purdy), more enemies and new locations. And really, that's all I want from a Gears game. It's the video game equivalent of the B-Movie that somehow became a massive box office hit, and that's how it should stay.

5.) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

I don't own a PS3 anymore, I never played it so I sold it. Too bad, because now I want it back simply because of this game. Uncharted is the flagship franchise that everyone wants a PS3 for, it's the system seller, the game that everyone needs. You play as Nathan Drake yet again, the Indiana Jones of the gaming franchise. Not too much of the story has been revealed but it seems like Nate has gotten himself mixed up in something bigger than himself yet again. Expect more cover-based shootouts, more witty one-liners and more amazing story telling. We all have high hopes for this one.

6.) Marvel Vs. Capcom 3/Mortal Kombat

I decided to put both of these in the same category because I know very, very little about fighting games and rarely play them, but these two have caught my eye. The first is a somewhat late sequel to the gaming classic Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, a sprite-fueled fighting game from... quite a while back. The graphics engine has been updated and new (and some very random) characters have been added, like Deadpool, Modok and Dante. It looks like it could be a fun, fast paced fighting game for the ages.

The second game is the first fighting game I think I've ever been really excited for. The first Mortal Kombat game for the next generation console is FINALLY HERE!!! What? Mortal Kombat Vs. DC? Never heard of it, doesn't exist. Finally, a new Mortal Kombat game! Time to rip out some spines and tear out some intestines with my bare hands! Oh, and there's a really cool new special move feature where you do a small sequence of attacks and during every punch, the screen slows down and shows the internal damage that it's doing, like breaking rips or crushing kidneys. Fun for the whole family.

There are a few key games that I've missed, I'm sure, but I don't think you guys would read a massive 20-game article so I'll just stop myself here. I'll add some of the bigger games if you want, like Bioshock Infinite or Duke Nukem Forever. Feel free to comment, and Merry Christmas to all :D

Can't wait for Arkham City, MvC3, and of course, Bioshock: Infinite (shame its coming out in 2012 :( )

Not one RPG on this list... I have to disagree with that.

Also, in the fps genre, deux ex 3 should be here.

It seems that you just put every blockbuster coming out.

But, dispit that, good list.

Bioshock Infinite I'm anticipating. I don't mind the spin-off, especially since it's more steampunk in contrast to the more dieselpunk original.

Also... American McGee's Alice 2: Madness Returns. <3 The long awaited sequel.

Well, I can see what Charlie here is mostly interested in with video games: explosions, fights and killing stuff. Hello folks, Magi here ready to spread some Christmas cheer...by slapping this around a bit.

1.) Arkham City: The first game while visually stunning, was about as smart as a bag of hammers. This next game looks to follow that tread, except that now the bag of hammers looks pretty intelligent now. Seriously, the story for this is stupid...I mean REALLY stupid. Really, Gotham gave the criminals THEIR OWN SECTION OF THE CITY?!? The problems with this idea are too long to list here, especially when you add that Batman 'is the only one that can bring justice to Gotham'. I call BULLSHIT here.

Now I do not doubt we will have very pretty visuals and linked attack patterns to button mash as you fight through a standard urban wasteland, but without at least an interesting story it feels like an overdone fighting game. Plus, just how big IS Batman? The model in the game has every muscle constantly budging, and yet expect me to believe he can do all those acrobatic moves. Sorry game but no.

2.) Dead Space 2: Ok folks...this game never scared me...I didn't think it or find it scary, and honestly was surprised that people called it a horror game. To me, it was a standard alien infestation shooter. Adding the idea that to better kill the bugs you had to dismember them...well, it smacked of elements from torture porn movies and just didn't make sense. Personally I think they should have continued from the exact end of the first game and left him alone and scared, just trying to survive. Yeah, gonna pass on this one too.

3.) Crysis 2: Standard shooter with an INSANE graphics engine. The first one I actually considered a failure because the company didn't wait til PC systems could handle it. The 360 and PS3 version were somewhat dumbed down so it could be played on them (thank goodness) and yes I know a few of you won't believe that...and I don't care. After I do my computer rebuild later next year, I might consider it.

4.)Gears of War 3: The thing I like about this series is...it never pretends to be anything but what it is, a big dumb kick-ass shooter. The story here is basic and makes little sense, and the game knows it. In fact, it cheerfully rolls around in its crapulence while blazing away at standard alien thingies. It's a bit like the Duke Nukem of this decade. So maybe it's worth a runthrough before you return it for something else in a month.

5.) Uncharted 3: I mentioned story a lot....and Uncharted at least HAS some. All the gameplay options are pretty much the same here as in other games, but the story makes it worth a look. I actually want to play this one.

6.)Marvel vs. Capcom3/Mortal Kombat: Seriously? Is it 1994 again?
