If it's crap ... We'll tell you
James Wan is one of my favorite horror directors working today. 'Saw' was of course a game-changer for the genre, but it was his 2010 effort 'Insidious' that really impressed me. The eerie imagery he was able to infuse into the film, the lingering sights that accompanied the jump scares, was outstanding. In addition to 'Insidious 2,' Wan will also see the release of 'The Conjuring' this year. Set in the early 1970s, 'The Conjuring' follows two paranormal investigators, based on a real husband and wife team, who come about the most dangerous case of their career. This latest trailer for the film has just landed online, and it's significantly creepy. On the one hand, there's not much here that doesn't resemble elements we've seen in other movies of this ilk, but here again Wan again shows his talent for scare composition. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.
'The Conjuring' hits theaters July 19th
