Splinter47 added a discussion to the group Bloody Thumbs PodcastToday we have two brand new posters from Sony Pictures 'The Amazing Spider-Man', directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield as the titular wallcrawler. While the first trailer went a long way towards relieving some of the "anti-reboot" people (and you know who you are), I can't help but feel like the company is severely dropping the ball in the print department. Sure, both posters have Spider-Man on them but can't we get something a little more original? The first poster at least tried to take a new route, but these are nothing we haven't seen before. Really? A shot of Spidey with something reflected in his eyepieces? Spidey posing above a city street? If this reboot is going to be taken as seriously as the company is hoping, they're going to have to start showing us something new and unique.

We also have the international version of the first trailer, which has a few extra shots and features more scenes with Peter Parker's parental figures, Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field):

It's spider-man so I will be seeing it eventually, but the trailers just don't get me as excited as I want them to. Still I thought the lizard should have been in the third film, at least we finally get him!! yay for that!!

Yea those posters are almost beat for beat like the others.Nothing original.I hope that doesn't reflect the actual film
Comment by Grand Master Bushido Brown on April 16, 2012 at 8:11pm Hopefully the lizard will look good.

Exactly! I don't get why everyone complains about those dance scenes, they're hilarious!

Disagreed. I think Tobey pulled off a fantastic performance, especially in Spider-Man 2. Lots of people like to underplay him, but in reality he was pretty fantastic. From what I've seen from Garfield, his dialogue seems to consist entirely of stutters and trailing off. It's just... Not feeling it.
@Noel Penn
I didn't say it was gonna be shit, but I can tell from here that.... Yeah, it's got giving me anything to latch on to, everything just looks bad. Avengers is giving an idea of what it's shooting for and it looks good, same with Batman, Spider-Man isn't looking great and I can't see what they're going for.

2nd poster: Cool
Trailer: Keeps showing the troubled life of Parker. Nothing looks fun.
