Reports are coming in that say 'Pulp Fiction' stars John Travolta and Uma Thurman are in talks to join the huge ensemble cast for Oliver Stone's new film 'Savages'. The pair would join an already packed cast of Blake Lively ('Green Lantern'), Aaron Johnson ('Kick Ass'), Taylor Kitsch ('John Carter of Mars'), Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek.
Based on the book by Don Winslow, the film centers around Ben and Chon (Johnson and Kitsch, respectively), two marijuana growers in Leguna and the woman they both love, O (Lively). When the new head of the Mexican drug cartel (Hayek) and her enforcer (Del Toro) push into their territory, they give Ben and Chon the choice to join them or pack up shop. When they refuse, the enforcer kidnaps O for a heavy ransom, which inspires the two men to get the ransom money by ripping off the cartel itself in a series of dangerous adventures. Travolta will reportedly be playing Dennis, a burned out DEA agent, while Thurman is being cast for the role of O's mother, Paqu (apparently strange names run in the family).
Financed and distributed by Universal Pictures and written by Shane Salermo ('Shaft', 'Armageddon'), 'Savages' is due out in 2012.

Comment by Sean on April 24, 2011 at 7:56am With his fading career and mounting homosexual rumors its hard to have much faith in Travolta anymore. Too bad, he used to be awesome. Uma just needs to do more films. Haven't seen her in years.
