Top 10 Movies of the Year so Far.

First off i'd like to say i'm not the type of person who has the time to see movies every weekend. During summer I tend to go a lot more often because I do not have any school or as much activities. I normally catch the one's I missed in the theatre the first week or two when they come out on DVD. I love movies and ever since I was born movies was always my love. These are 10 movies I enjoyed watching and this is my opinion. Big movies of '09 that I haven't seen include Funny People, (500) Days of summer ,The Hurt Locker, Public Enemies, Up, Moon and G.I. Joe.

Honorable Mention : I Love You Man starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal. Though it's one of those fun movies I did enjoy watching it and had a lot of fun with it while it lasted. The acting is very good but I think they could have extended a few scenes or even add a few scenes to make the movie funnier. I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would but if your looking for a nice , cute flick for the weekend i'd check it out on DVD.

#10 Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince starring Daniel Radcliffe.
Even though this is my least favourite Harry Potter film it did have some good moments that I enjoyed. The first hour of the film went by nice and slow and the flow of the film was very good. The second half felt like they wanted to push the ending too quickly towards the end. This is my opinion comming from someone that hasn't read the books. As a matter of fact I know this should have been Dumbledore's movie and they should have given him more justice. The acting of the movie is great and after the end you kindof feel drained out. The cinematography and the special effects were incredible.

#9 Notorious starring Jamal Woolard
This movie is about the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G. This movie tells his story since he young and how he made it all the way to the top. The movie shows all the problems he had and amazing vocals and rhymes he did. The movie does a great job in telling the story of probably the greatest rapper of all time. I liked the style of the film and this is definatly one of those films where a lot of people heard about but never watched. I highly recommend this film but it's rated R for a good reason.

#8 Taken starring Liam Neeson
One of those really good action films that entertains you right from the get go. This movie was very good, the writting was good and the performances were great as well. This is probably the first time i've seen Liam Neeson take the lead and is on the screen the whole time. His performance is good, believable and very scary for the people he kills! Some very good action sequences and great moments in the film.

#7 TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox
I know this movie was hated by plenty of people but this is the typee of movie I never take seriously. I don't expect a good story or acting i'm there to get out of the house and have a good time with some friends. Yes the movie is stupid but I had fun watching it. It was like the shortest 2 hours and a half hours i've ever spent at the movies. Regardless of what anyone says, I did enjoy the movie and i'm sure there's a few that did too. I don't think this is a good movie but I think it's a fun movie and I had a blast with it that's exactly why it's on my list. This movie also made the most money then any other summer of 2009 movie.

#6 The Hangover starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and MIKE TYSON
I went on the day it opened and the whole movie theatre was packed. I had a blast watching this movie and I laughed a bunch of times. This is one of those movies you want to watch with a bunch of people because they almost say comments and laugh with you. The performances were great all the actors were funny and believable even Mike Tyson! Zach Galifianakis, I thought was the funniest one and he made me laugh so much. There's so many memorible scenes in the movie that are still in my head. Everyone in the theatre had a great time and this is by far the best comedy of the year so far.

#5 Drag Me To Hell starring Alison Lohman, Justin Long.
This is one of those movies that nobody saw unfortunatly. I went on Saturday night with some guys and it was us and a row behind us. The row behind us were all older then us and they were screaming like little girls. They predicted what was gonna happen and made the movie scarier for us. I loved this movie , it's the first time i've actualy jumped or was scared in a while. Sam Rami's direction was fantastic and I loved all he did with the movie. Everything he made that was scary he made fun of in a way. This movie is a lot of fun, it's fun and scary. If you see this movie please see it with a bunch of people it wil make the experience much better then it allready is.

#4 Star Trek starring Zachary Quinto and a big whole cast!
I loved this movie, it was such a good time in the theatre. This movie had everything, a great story, great performances , great effects. This was such a solid reboot everyone in my theatre was clapping. I am not one of those "Trekies" as people define and this was my first time ever watching Star Trek. I had a great time with it , J.J Abrams did such a good job in directing this movie. Nowadays special effects could look fake but these effects realy make you believe your actually in space. I loved every minute in this movie. The performances especially by Kirk and Spock were fantastic! Great movie!

#3 District 9 starring Sharlto Copley
This was one of the most different movies i've ever seen. It was filmed sort-of documentary style and it's such a believable movie. The effects were amazing the aliens and weapons looked all so real and the film was made for only 30 million. The actors in the movie were really good and the story was great. I enjoyed watching this movie so much. It was a very entertaining movie and the great buzz around this movie is truly deseerved. PLEASE check this movie out, you'll definatly like it.

#2 Watchmen Starring: Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
This was one of those movies where I went into it knowing pretty much nothing and had such a great time. After I saw the movie I right away went to read the book. The cast was amazing and all gave fantastic performances. The effects were amazing and I liked the story a lot. I know a lot of people were complainning about the ending of the film and how it's different from the book but i'm not gonna say I liked it but I didn't hate it. The blu-ray version Directors Cut is also very good. I like digg this movie!

#1 INGLORIOUS BASTERDS starring Brad Pitt
This was Quentin Tarantino's finnest work since Pulp Fiction. This movie is fantastic, I loved it. The openning scene of the movie was so well written infact so was the whole movie. The performances were amazing especially Brad Pitt he should definatly win the oscar. His accent , actions and acting was at his best and I never knew Brad Pitt could act like this. The movie has soo many good movies and Quentin Tarantino knew this movie would be such a hit the last line of the movie hint that it's such a good movie. Everything in this movie is done is such style and it's a feel good movie right after it's done. The audience applauded and everyone left the movie very satisfied. Top notch cinema at it's best.

Thank You for reading my article, it took me a lot of thought and time to make this!

I agree with your placing of Watchmen. it may be because i haven't read the book, but i thought the movie was BADASS. I would not agree with Basterds being above District 9 but hey its your opinion. Oh, and just to say, Taken came out in 2008 :)

Hahaha, ahhhh....
Top ten lists. Always funny :P
I know this is people's opinion and I respect that, but why always Transformers 2 in those lists? Am I missing something?
Taken? Aww that's cute. I think Die Hard is WAY better than this, sorry Liam Neeson... very good performence, bad, bad movie for me.
Gonna see Inglorious Basterds tonight, let's see if it's good, but I trust the Q man :D
