I managed to see this a little early and all I can say is unless you're really, really into the visual aspect, it's a total rental. The previews don't tell you that they made the movie into a musical and the songs really aren't that spectacular. The movie itself is kind of whatever, but the art is beautiful.

I love Danny Devito, but I Taylor Swift is one of the few famous people that manages to get past my "don't give a shit about famous people" bubble and straight into my "fuck you and your ability to make me hate you without ever cracking a tabloid or watching a Disney show" circle. I'm kind of excited to see it, my only problem with it just going from the trailer was in the original the world got all dingy and dark and gross once they had chopped down all the trees, showing the consequences of ruining the environment, but in the trailer they live in a colorful happy town that just happens not to have any real trees, it just doesnt really feel like there are any consequences
