The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (First Impresions)

Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games of all time, but that goes without saying. So how does a 12-year-old game hold up in the palm of your hand in 3D. Well it holds up great. So far I've gotten about an 8th of the way thourgh the game, I just got Saria's Song, so this isn't a full review. So far I think that it's still one of the greastest games of all time but it doesn't have enough changes to be nominated for game of the year.

There are some significant changes but only two things are real game changers. Obviously the graphics and audio have received noticeable improvement. They've included new Shiekian Stones so that new players don't get stuck or confused. The two significant changes I mentioned are the 3D and the motion controls. The 3D gives the player a good range of distance between like and enemies. Crows will attack at night at the Lon Lon Ranch; to see them circle around Link was just fascinating. I could tell the distance between three of them as they flew around Link. The motion controls surprised me the most. When I first saw a video demonstrating it I thought it was kind of cool during a first person view but crap for using it with the sing shot and other such items. I found that I was quite wrong. I only used the circle pad in the first dungeon but thought I'd try it out just for the fuck of it in the shooting gallery. I found that I prefer the motion controls over the circle pad in that little experiment. I realized that face raider trained me for these controls. I hope they use these controls in Kid Icarus, Metroid and future Zelda 3DS games. Unil playing this game I had also thought the circle pad had no sense of how far up I was moving it. I learned that I could make like walk or run.

I haven't seen anything yet that tells game of year though. What really would have blown me away to say game of the year is voice acting or a tweaked script. It is certainly a great game so far but it is everything I expected and not much more. I think it will be a classic but only because this is the version your going to give your friends and kids when they say I've never played Ocarina of Time. There are enough thing hear to call it better that the original. It really just a cover song but none the less a good one. I think the story still holds up as great children's fantasy which is something I've only seen The Legend of Zelda do and even then it's only a few Zelda games. I don't think it's to compare the story to other great fantasy games of to day because the rest are going for a Lord of the Ring epicness and this is trying to be like Labyrinth or the animated Hobbit. Keep in mind at with the exception of the story these are not my full thoughts. I might grow to hate the motion controls or love it more. I might hate the mast quest. I'll try to post the review by the 26th for the 3 of you who read this.

Well you asked for my opinion and my first piece of advice is proof read your article before you post it.

You have run on sentences, misspelled words, misused words, and redundant thoughts. You alos might want to invest in a thesaurus. You used the word change/d several times in the first paragraph and it started to sound pedestrian.

Take notes while you're playing so you have specific examples of things you liked as you continue to play. Read everything out loud as well. See if it flows well. If it doesn't sound right out loud then tackle it again.
