so wrong about the office and parks and recreation. especially parks and rec, strong opening. loved the show from the gate. "the boys club", "the banquet" and the pilot are some of my fav episodes all in season one
TellTale's The Walking Dead is the best thing with the Walking Dead name on it right now. Aside from the comic which I haven't read.
I hate Laurie and Andrea both. I don't know why I can't hate both.
I can see why people want the shorter shows. But personally I've always liked the really long stuff, but then again I listen on my Ipod.
Spartacus is an awesome TV show. I agree that it took the first couple of episodes to get into it, but it does pick up and it gets really good. The storylines and characters are all awesome. I also agree the new Spartacus that took Andy's place, is kinda bad, but I still really like the show. I thought the prequel was awesome and it really fleshed out the main characters and why they are the way they are.
@ Brandon Mack.
I'm sorry but as big of a fan I am of Escape from New York, it's NOT a great movie.
Neither is Escape from LA (that I saw in theaters) where the special effects somehow got worse and Russell was in no shape to fight so they did a basketball game. If that's not enough, the main bad guy "Cuervo Jones" basically a comical version of Che, was so bad of a name that I pondered, "Where's tequila sunrise?"
Carpenter wasn't trying to tell the future. Who believes in the future NY cab drivers are nicer? Rather, it's a statement on Reaganomics because if you lived in downtown cities during that time *raises hand*, cities were used to contain the poor so the suburbs could develop. Again it's on the laser disc director's commentary option...and if that's not enough, Robocop beats you over the head with the same concept.
That's beside the point, my point is...ain't NO WAY such a concept flies today because the concept in cities today is quite the reverse. It's closer to Romero's Land of the Dead...a society of privilege protected by a police in mega city-states.
Wow, I disagree with everything you say, except your thoughts on the new Spartacus, he is no where near as charasmatic and likeable as Andy Whitfield, but he is not terrible. And while the first season remains the best season, all the following ones are still incredible seasons of TV. I think the Sybil/Gannicus romance this season is amazing, Manu Bennet (who plays Crixus) grows as an actor every season, even if his character has not gotten as much great stuff to do as in the first season, and the transformation of Laeta from Roman noblewoman to slave has been beautifully handled. They have done an amazing job of making Crassus a believable threat to the rebels. I do hate Tiberius as he is a terrible actor, but Ceasar is fantastic and entertaining. Battiatus was my favorite part of the show, every word he said was either epic or hilarious and John Hannah deserved an emmy for that role. But hey, Spartacus is my favorite show on TV, and I am sick of people saying it is just sex and violence, its much more then that and I am incredibly sad its ending next month. RIP Andy Whitfield, and KILL THEM ALL!!!!!
@Dr. Detfink I agree reboots are not needed and origin are pointless I disagree heavily about compare Escape from New York to crap. I doubt Carpetner was trying to tell the future.
Fear 2's and Ninja Gaiden 2's gore was amazing even though those were game.
Crixus is teeeeerrible this season and relies solely on grunting and looking angry. The new lady who plays Naevia couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. The INCREDIBLY transparent plot devices with the slave girl who has the fangirl crush on Gannicus and the now-slave wife lady are poorly handled. Caesar just mugs for the camera and they're telling basically the same "oh those Romans keep screwing each other over while the slaves get all smart and tricky and stuff" storyline. Gannicus is a fun character, but the storyline of the prequel series was drek and spent way too much time with Lucretia and Batiatus (who are IMO some of the worst parts of the show).Just my opinion of course, not everyone likes the same stuff.
