Comment by Jordan Hoffman on February 21, 2012 at 3:26am Here's actually how I speculate the series will end:
I see them going down a "French Connection" route.
A few episodes into the season, Hank and Walt discuss the William Friedkin movie "The French Connection" (which I love, by the way). Hank I believe compares himself to Popeye Doyle and Heisenberg to the film's antagonist. Walter notes that in the film (and I believe, in real life) the bad guy was never caught.
Through the course of the season, I can see Walter losing his family, but almost being indifferent. Jesse potentially dead, Hank possibly dead, his family either abandonded or dead. Perhaps they have all the money they need and Walter has all the money he needs, and Walter having phoned up the "Vacuum Salesman" has a new life and new identity. Then, when all is said and good, and Walter is on his way to freedom...
...his cancer comes out of remission.
Comment by Jordan Hoffman on February 21, 2012 at 2:14am I think Jesse is a surrogate son to Walt.
Especially after that one moment, where Walter is all fucked up after a fight with Jesse. When his son comes over to his house and he gets emotional. His apology to his son sounds like it's actually directed at Jesse, which is further evidenced by him calling his son "Jesse" when he's put to bed.
Comment by Jordan Hoffman on February 21, 2012 at 1:53am Just finished Season 4 of Breaking Bad. Gotta listen to this.
I hope the League does an entire Breaking Bad episode once the series has concluded.

Comment by Al Luo on October 21, 2011 at 7:33pm Also, as an addendum to my previous comment, the series title "Breaking Bad" could possibly relate to Walter's seeming breaking of character into the "Heisenburg" personality. And therein lies the tragedy, because in "winning", he had ultimately lost, because he had done precisely what the writers wanted him to do... which was become something other than a high school chem teacher, a car wash attendant, and a normal husband and father. Which is the reason the show is so great, and why we watch him. Because he turned 'bad'.
