'The Hobbit's Martin Freeman To Join Edgar Wright's 'The World's End'

For some time now, the internet has been abuzz over the latest collaboration between Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. The new project 'The World's End,' was said to be the conclusion of The Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy (the first two of course being 'Shuan of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz'). 'The World's End' would follow a group of friends re-attempting an epic pub crawl twenty-years after the first try. As the evening progresses, they realize that more is at stake than mere bragging rights. Edgar Wright has now made some rather impressive additions to his cast for 'The World's End.' It looks as if Martin Freeman ('The Hobbit') has come aboard, though the details on his character remain a mystery. As if that weren't enough, Paddy Considine ('Dead Man's Shoes'), Eddie Marsan ('Sherlock Holmes'), and Rosamund Pike ('Die Another Day') have also signed on.

Wow, that's a hell of a cast! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't going to take much to get me excited for this film, but the fact that they've lined up so much high-profile British talent is just icing on the cake. I'm not entirely surprised, as Wright has enticed some big names in the past. In fact, Martin Freeman and Paddy Considine are repeat Wright collaborators, having both appeared in 'Hot Fuzz.' My hope however is that they'll be getting more screen time in 'The World's End.' Rosamund Pike is both talented and an absolute knockout to boot. All these skilled performers, Edgar Wright at the helm, and a possible subplot about the apocalypse? It's safe to say 'The World's End' continues to climb my list of most anticipated films of next year...or the following year, depending on when it actually gets a release in the states.

What do you guys think? Are you excited about this cast? Is there anyone else you think they really need to go after?

This sounds like Mad Max on the Pub Crawl.

Paddy Considine is an incredible actor. If you haven't seen Dead Man's Shoes, do yourself a favor and check it out. It's the ultimate revenge flick.

This is top on my to-see list. Above The Hobbit, even.
