Another review form the beach! Sorry... :/
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button aka: Forest Gump 2!
This is obviously the work of Eric Roth. At least that's what I figured, and I was right of course.
The southern accents, the war, the boat, the strange disability circumstances! I was waiting for "Life is like a box of chocolates..." to be put in there somewhere. The only thing really different about this movie was it had a lot more sex in it (but, that doesn't really matter). It was like someone cloned it....
Don't get me wrong, I DO like this movie.
If I was ever born to age backwards, that would.... suck.
Bad Pitt... I have to admit I didn't have high hopes for him in this movie. I know I wasn't the only one to see Burn After Reading, so I know that I wasn't alone in that thought. But, he was so amazing! I loved his southern accent. And when they made him 18 he was hot hot Hot HOT HOOOOOOT! Oh my god, that is one sexy man! Cate Blanchett was also very pretty in this movie. But, he was just so fucking HOT! Ok... I'm gonna stop now. Anyway, he was a very good actor in this movie. He can play old, middle-aged, young, and a teenager very well. Through the whole thing he had this simple-mindedness to him, but he still seemed wise. Cate Blanchett was also good at playing all of the roles she was given. And if they didn't use a double for her (I have no idea if she did or not), she is a fantastic dancer.
It is a very complete story, so I can't really get into exactly what I liked and didn't like about it without having to go back and explain everything I say. So, I will just tell you my favorite parts are his first time in the brothel, the tugboat during the war, and when Benjamin was an extremely little kid with alzheimers. Not to mention seeing Brad pitt made into a sexy 18-year-old again! (sorry, that was the last time :)
If you want to hear a cute, but sad story that will make you think. Then you should see this.
But, if you hate sweet stories that kind of throw logic out of the window, then I wouldn't recommend it.
(I have to give credit to the guy who wrote the original short story it was based on...
7 out of 10
it was good, but it didn't completely awe me.
