Final Fuckingly! You guys saw this movie before Miami! The embargo has been lifted! Woot!
On the subject of the villans of the movie, Joss Whedon said that they considered more difficult villans, but it made no sense to throw the more powerful super villans, like the Skrulls, at a team that's just coming together for the first time. That the villans get more difficult as the team is together longer. Looking at it that way, it does make sense. And just to let everyone know, Marvel came out and said at an Avengers premiere that there are certain characters that can crossover and not only be in movies from one studio. Characters like the Skrulls, Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver can appear in movies from Fox and also appear in movies by Marvel.
Maverick, I haven't seen it, but two of your points I think were answered in other films.
In Thor, during the very last scene Thor asks Heimdall if he can see Jane Foster. Heimdall smiles and says "She is searching for you." We then see Jane, Darcy and Erik frantically running around their lab. Erik says something to the effect of "Hurry Jane!" and then asks if they had access to the SHIELD satellites. Close up of Jane, she smirks they run off. Then we see Thor staring out off the broken Rainbow Bridge, a flash of light on his face and he smiles. Jane, working with SHIELD, has opened a wormhole to Asgard. (I actually watched it last night to prepare for the Avengers)
In The Incredible Hulk, again, the very last scene. Bruce is meditating and working on his breathing. His BP is rising, he opens his eyes and they are green, and he smirks. This indicates that he is actively working on exerting control over the HULK, and practice makes perfect. I have no reason to believe Bruce would STOP working on this, and in fact would only improve it over time.
As to the dialogue, jokes and tension, I will have to see for myself, but I think the Hulk/Thor issues were explained. The Hulk one fairly clearly, the Thor one you really have to pay close attention to catch.
Avengers was fucking awesome. Dont know how they didnt all give it a full price.
Thank You Cyrus!!!
BETTER THAN SEX!!! Damn Right!!!
Honestly...I think 'X-Men, X2 & X-Men: First Class' did better team-ups than this movie.
Since the Spill crew avoided arguing some of the problems with this film...I'll just come out and say it:
1. Loki & the alien race were little to not intimidating at all
2. There was never a moment to were they built on any kind of suspence
3. How Thor was able to return to earth and Bruce Banner being able to control The Hulk was never answered.
5. Some of the diolouge fell flat on it's face
6. There was also never a point where you felt that these characters were ever in some sort of fatal danger
But with all that said, this didn't deserve all the publicity and hype it was given but it is indeed a fun fast-paced film. It's not a Full Price but rather a High Matinee. Like I said before though, The X-Men film (which) I stated above still reigns over The Avengers in regards to super-hero team-ups.
this is a sigh of relief, glad to hear it is a great film im PUMPED!
ps. Im very impressed with Co-Host's knowledge of the Jersey Shore
