FiggyCal posted a statusOh. Hell. Yes. I may lose a great deal of face with you guys, and I'm sorry, but I love the 'Step Up' movies. Forget the utter absurdity of their plots and the often flat, dull acting, these movies are all about spectacle and the dance numbers only get more and more over-the-top elaborate as the series progresses. They are a call back to the days of 'Breakin 2' when it didn't matter what the characters were saying, as long as we got to see Ozone and Turbo work their magic and save the rec center. That formula has not changed one iota except that the 'Step Up' movies have beautifully incorporated 3D into the jaw-dropping splendor of the dance sequences. The new film, 'Step Up Revolution,' continues this tradition as you can see in this recently released trailer. I am so pumped for this it's embarrassing. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.
'Step Up Revolution' hits theaters July 27th

Comment by Akage on April 4, 2012 at 12:51pm Urgh...
You folks can defend this crap by comparing the inherent absurdity of this genre - which continues to escalate at a drastic pace - to martial arts all you want; but in the end, there is a big fucking difference: these people are just goddamn dancing. Yes, most forms of martial arts are achieved by fluid movement and choreography; but there is a point to what you are doing with that movement.
This shit has no point, other than to look gay as shit. Oh, and to save the stupid ass rec center.

Comment by BleakGod on April 4, 2012 at 12:33pm Love how LXD handles its fantasy dance sequences, out of my acceptance of that I'll let step up franchise slide on the article mentioned flaws. I like seeing well choreographed dance so I hope they do good here. I'll see if I can sneak in after another movie or just matinee it if nothing else is out.
Comment by Trent on April 4, 2012 at 11:13am so i guess this site has become ironic for liking shitty movies and then talking about how shitty good movies are. can't wait till the entire site is promoting this flick just like the last exorcism or PAUL
