"Smallville: Absolute Justice" 2 hour JSA movie written by Geoff Johns!

Just a quick reminder to all you Smallville and JSA fans out there, all three of you including myself. Tonight the CW will be premiering the two hour Smallville movie event featuring the Justice Society of America titled "Smallville Absolute Justice" and from what I've seen so far it looks pretty kick ass!

"Absolute Justice" is written by one of my favorite comic book writers on the scene, Geoff Johns. He's the guy that's been writing that little comic book called "Blackest Night" and a few other titles you may have never heard of like "Green Lantern" and "Superman Secret Origins." Oh yeah and on top of all that he even managed to write the coolest Smallville episode last year featuring the Legion of Super Heroes, "Legion". Anyway from the interviews I've been listening to, he's dropping a lot of easter eggs in this movie involving other DC characters you may be familiar with. The one aspect I loved hearing about in some of these interviews is how the producers gave him all the freedom he wanted in putting this episode together. I mean if you really think about it, who in the hell would ever want to really make a JSA movie? Let alone feature characters such as Dr. Fate and Stargirl? This time may be the only time you'll ever get to see these character interact with each other other than an animated show or movie and I for one think that's pretty sweet.

I was quite relieved to hear Geoff say time and time again that he is a fan of the show and points out it's weaknesses and stong points that validate to me, why I'm a fan of Smallville. I'm sure I can write another blog about my passion for this show, even though I know it's not the stongest written show out there but what I do love about it is it's heart, yeah I know that sounds gay, I'm sorry, but to me that's what Superman is really about. Even though he has the power of a God, that's not what's important to him it's about...oh fuck I told myself not to do that!!!

Forget that last paragraph, here are some pretty pictures and some clips! HELL YEAH!!! PICTURES RULE!!!

Smallville Absolute Justice airs Friday Feb. 5th 8PM (ET) 7PM (CST) That's tonight fool!!!

Watched the first few seasons but there's only so many times you can watch him having to deal with a bad guy who's found a stash of kryptonite. Wouldn't mind seeing this episode though.

Didn't really like Hawkman's costume and Dr.Fate was killed all too easily.

I had the hugest "nerdgasm" watching this episode. This was freaking AWESOME!!!! "Daniel Shepard" (from SG-1) as Hawkman was great casting. Fantastic story and I'm so glad about the way it turned out. (won't spoil it for anyone who didn't see it)

This week's episode was pretty cool too, especially Lois' costumes. The first one made me laugh so hard, and then get excited... and the 2nd one... well that just got me excited more. lol This show rocks. The only thing I want them to do is have Clark finally complete his dang training already and become Superman. I want the red and blue hero to finally make his appearance and let the awesomeness get even better. Also, I would love to see an episode where Lois and Clark take a trip to Gotham and Clark runs into this rich jerk named Bruce there, and they become friends later who decide if either one needs a hand... the other will be there for him. Then.... BRING ON THE JLA!!!

Great show.

Hope this episode shuts the haters up.

My only gripe is the villain. He didn't strike me as threatening and I find it difficult to believe that this bratty kid was able to take out two members of the JSA. However, there was a lot of cool geek moments that made up for the shitty antagonist.

And to think, a Starman series doesn't seem so silly anymore, does it?

the best part? they were actually in costume, not just in colour theamed sweaters.

Did anyone else notice that scene with the cape was taken from an episode earlier in the series, I think season one where the kid who could see how someone would die? Which is pretty cool for longtime fans.

It sucked. It was terrible and badly written and didn't do the characters justice...

Ah, who am I kidding? IT WAS F**KING AWESOME! I dug the conversations between GL and Hawkman and then Martian Manhunter and Dr. Fate. The action was very well done. Of course, the only problem with the episode is the same problem that's in every episode of Smallville: Chloe and Clark. I've just never really been into Chloe as a character because she gets on my nerves as the "plucky sidekick" and Clark needs to stop brooding all the damn time and suit up already. When they showed a glimpse of his cape in Dr. Fate's vision, I was secretly hoping that they'd end the episode with a new costume for Clark, but instead I guess we're just stuck with his Hot Topic Matrix look.

I liked the JSA costumes though, particularly Dr. Fate's. Hopefully we see the rest of the JSA in future episodes in cameos, etc as they take on the new bad guys (won't spoil it here if you haven't seen it).
