SDCC '11: Weekend Round Up
While we sadly couldn't cover everything at Comic Con this year (we'd need a team of fifty with all the news that arrives every minute), we had a lot of fun and enjoyed our brief stay in "geek central". Here's some highlights from the weekend's events:
Appearing all over the internet, we have screenshots of The Lizard in Marc Webb's 'The Amazing Spider-Man', and video of the panel in which Andrew Garfield surprised fans and attendees in Hall H with a heartfelt speech about the power and meaning of the character and story (all while in a Spidey costume, to boot):
The 'Snow White' Wars continue! Relativity Media's version of the classic fairy tale has revealed the first look at Lily Collins as the title character:
On the other film, Universal's 'Snow White and the Huntsman', the first images of the rough-and-tumble 'Lord of the Rings' inspired take shows a much different kind of Snow White (Kristen Stewart):
Legendary Pictures has posted the first image of Lucifer from the Bradley Cooper-starring adaptation of Alexander Proyas' classic 'Paradise Lost' and the following synopsis: "Lucifer and Michael, God's greatest archangels, share the bond of extraordinary friendship until God produces his greatest creation: Man. Unable to remain subservient to God if it means bowing down to humanity, Lucifer begins his dark descent and is cast out - only to plot his revenge."
Fox has released another new image from their Alien "prequel-lite" film 'Prometheus starring Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron:

I felt very uncomfortable watching Andrew Garfield in that clip. Even though it wasn't me up there, I felt very embarassed. Kinda like when you're in the grocery store and somones kid makes a comment like " Mommy, why's that man so fat?"....Even though you didn't say it, you still wan't to crawl under a rock because you know the poor guy the kid's talking about heard it and feels bad. That's the same feeling I get watching this clip. He meant well, but really should have kept quiet ( sorry man, the jammy's and the speech were not cool).

I wonder how they're going to do Paradise Lost? Satan is usually portrayed as the anti-hero of the story, despite Milton's original intent. That interpretation works alright in the original story, but I can't see movie audiences sympathizing with a being intent on sabotaging the human race. This isn't like Legion where an angel turns against God to protect humans, this is an angel turning against God because he's jealous of God's love for humans. It'll be interesting to see how they spin this.

"Lord of the Rings inspired"? Her shield has the bloody white tree of Gondor on it!
But who cares. It's not like the film is actually going to BE good.
As for Spider-Man... I've already lost complete faith in it.

He looks like a mini godzilla because all american godzilla is, is a giant lizard. Most animated versions and later comic versions also have him more lizard -man than man-lizard.

If I didn't read the info, I would have never known that was a screenshot of the Lizard in the new Spider-Man movie.
Kristen Stewart looks coool....kinda hot in fact. I look forward to anything that she's in.

If Im wrong I am BUT the Lizard looks like a Mini Godzilla from the remake! LOL WOW. SUCKAGE!
