Comment by Shegaw on August 5, 2011 at 12:45pm I get what you mean Josteo. It isn't as though Munn is an abominable person or anything. She's just an attractive and capable comedienne looking to further her career. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. The producers are the ones telling her what to do come air time. However, I can only sympathize within the framework of the program. The reason Munn gets more flack then Diane Mizota is because Munn went out of her way to brand herself as a geek/nerd outside of a show. No one believed her to be particularly into the stuff she was covering on AOTS at first. Had she left her appeals to the channel's demographic on the network, she'd be just like any other tv personality. But, she sought the "18-35 males" G4 attracts and realized she can make a career off of being one of them. Tht required an effort and "deception" (for a lack of a better term that I for one don't care for. But that's me.
I can't account for what people do with their twitter accounts. I will say that as far as journalism is concerned, the uninformed are a hindrance to both parties. Not everyone has to be Robert E. Murrow but, do some research into what you're doing a piece for. Otherwise you get softball questions repeated over and over (from different sources) and we, as an audience, get no better understanding of the game in question. We basically have a glorified cutscene-ad combo. Unfortunately, this makes it seem as though the interviewer (eg a Munn type) look less than credible and makes them seem like they got their position out of aesthetic.
Again, I don't know twitter etiquette, but I'd imagine that whatever a "Cliffy-B type" (like you, I don't know if he's said anything) would be just as rude if said directly.
Actually Josteo, that could be arranged. We would need to know your areas of expertise first though. What are you well-versed in?
