Get ready to ride into another trailer for Disney's 'The Lone Ranger.' Armie Hammer slides into the saddle for this take on the classic hero with Johnny Depp accompanying as his faithful companion Tonto. This new trailer certainly provides more exposition as to the Ranger's backstory, and also gives us an indication of what the overall aesthetic of the film will be. I'm still skeptical. It may have something to do with Depp's Tonto relying a lot on his Jack Sparrow schtick or maybe the weird apparent mix of 'Wild Wild West' and 'Jonah Hex.' We'll see. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'The Lone Ranger' rides into theaters July 3rd, 2013

Christ Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are in this? Sorry Armie, you will make a good Bruce Wayne one day but for now I am out of this film.

This looks bad. Like... really bad. I don't see any Wild Wild West, but I do see Jonah Hex and Green Hornet - levels of hammy campiness. Rather than taking this seriously (like they probably should have), it looks to be just another Johnny Depp vehicle for him to chew scenery in between soulless giant CG action set pieces. I really hope it's just a matter of the trailer being cut together poorly, but wth? It really shouldn't be that hard to make a badass Lone Ranger flick. Guy's brother and father are gunned down by outlaws, he dons a mask and goes outside the law with the help of a trusted Indian companion to avenge their deaths and bring law to the West... that sh** should write itself.

Instead we get... this. Horses in trees and spirit walkers and train explosions. Yikes.

Johnny Depp ,Densel and Will Smith have no diversity to their acting methods.  I wish they do something different.

I have no love for a Walt Disney movies. I just don't.Everytime a black person is in the cast it is about slavery or "Remeber the titans."

I could be wrong this movie. It could be go or can be good. I just don't see a lot of torque in the trailer.

Could go either way, but there's no way they're making that budget back.

It was actually looking ok till the last 15 seconds. Then it was like 'stupid Pirates / Disney bullshit' and I lost all credible interest..

"And its already looking like the 'sidekick' will overshadow the main character..."

I always got a sense that writers gave Tonto a better role in the first place.

At this stage, could be great or it could be awfull

My biggest surprise here is to find out Depp is playin Tonto, I'd just assumed he was playin the title role

@OdO Disney wanted a big name star for Tonto and sadly there are no well known Native Americans actors. Its was the same problem with the Prince of Persia film not having any real Persians in it.
