Aaron posted a status2011 was an odd year for movies, in my opinion. Especially since this was the year with most sequels ever released (27 of them if I remember right).
But I still got some favs to share...
10.) Cars 2
This film wasn't as bad as most made it out to be, but it still felt mediocre at best, and it was quite crazy be comparison to the first movie. But the film, to its credit, has some moments of honest heart, and it is visually amazing.
9.) Green Lantern
Probably the summer's most underrated film. Sure, it not written entirely well, but its still quite a fun, popcorn-entertainer in various areas. Plus, I personally view this as Transformers done right, if you get my meaning.
8.) Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
This is what the live-action could've been, writing-wise. Voice-acting is very entertaining, and the animation is sleek and awesome. Plus, it's anthological set up makes this a fun history lesson for new-comers of the GL mythos.
7.) Batman: Year One
For fans of the comic, this is an amazing adaptation! It not only gets scenes and lines of dialogue verbatum, but it also manages to get the meaning of those aspects perfectly.
6.) All-Star Superman
Probably the best Superman movie to come out in years, if you ask me. Fun voice-acting, and emotional story-telling, its probably DC Universe's best animated movie to date.
5.) The Adventures of Tintin
The animation is beautiful, and feels quite realistic, voice-acting is amazing, and the action throughout is gripping and lots of fun. Definately feels like the next generation of Indiana Jones.
4.) X-Men: First Class
This movie is just the very defination of superhero-movie entertainment! Fun, stylish, and sleek, It's definately a must see for new X-Men fans and long-time fans alike.
3.) Rango
It's blend of westerns and comedy make Rango a winning animated achievement in my eyes.
2.) Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Andy Serkis's preformance as Cesear just simply blows me away, both visually and emotionally. And the writing is quite complex and spellbinding.
1.) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Much like Toy Story 3, this was an incredible final adventures with characters that most of us felt we grew up with. It's a winner not only for the series, but mostly likely as a movie of the year!
