Michael Cera Addresses 'Arrested Development' Rumors

Source: MTV

MTV spoke to Michael Cera at Sundance about the proposed 'Arrested Development' movie. Rumors had Cera as the lone holdout in the film getting a green light. In the video, below, Cera refutes those claims, saying that he’s merely waiting for a script. The actor also says that the film is “more hypothetical than people think.”

Honestly, the creator should just type it up with or without Cera's involvement. That's generally how its done anyway. The script is the first real thing that's done for any movie, way before any actors come aboard. Hurwitz needs to get over himself, write the script, and then see if Cera wants to do it.

I'm not saying Ceras a great actor. Not at all. I'm just saying he shouldn't feel pressured to do this movie. From what I gathered in Dustin's post, Mitch Hurwitz dosen't want to work on a script untill everyone on the cast makes a pinky promise with him. Just do the script. I understand if someone wants something on paper before agreeing to it.

I dunno if you asked me Michael Cera has already been type casted. If everything I see him in it's like he's always playing the George Michael character, not that that bothers me since I thought that that character was funny and I liked the type of humor he conveys through that character, but honestly what other "characters" does Cera do, or maybe I should say done?

Why should an actor agree to something without seeing a script? Michael Cera's career is just starting out. He has to be selective of his projects or risk being typecast or unable to do anything else. Mitch Hurwitz needs to write a script. Thats how you start projects.

I wouldn't be sad if Cera didn't come back. The show was the funniest when it only concerned the adults, in my opinion.

I love the show, easily top 5 in my favorite of ALL TIME. I just don't know how well it would transition into a movie and the more time that passes the less likely that it will be successful. Look at the xfiles movie, aside from it being okay to bad, it came out of left field and went as fast as it came.
