Leaked: 'The Avengers' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man'

Source: YouTube

It seems like leaked footage has been rampant lately, and while we don't generally condone that sort of thing, these two are simply too interesting to not post. The first is the after-credits sting from 'Captain America: The First Avenger', in which Steve Rogers - now alive in modern day (which isn't a spoiler unless you've been living under a rock for the last thirty years) - is handed his new mission which begins a whole new film franchise, 'The Avengers':

Then, we have the very first look at Marc Webb's 'The Amazing Spider-Man', starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. While many fans balk at yet another origin story, it appears that the film will tackle large portions of the story that the previous films glossed over, such as Peter's relationship with Gwen and her father, or the mystery surrounding the deaths of his parents. While some of the special effects still look a bit "work in progress"-ey, remember that this is still just a teaser and some scenes may never make it into the final film:

'The Avengers' arrives in theaters on May 4th, 2012 and 'The Amazing Spider-Man' swings in on July 3rd, 2012.

Wow people seem to be really split on the Spider-Man subject, I trust Marc webb, to make a good movie, I like it so far, I like the ACTUAL web shooters, I like Andrew Garfield, he looks like Peter Parker, and I'm liking what little we've seen of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy aswell, honestly I don't get why people are thinking this is going to be dark and Dark Knight-like. It looks dark? Well if you want to be technical sure there are are a lot of shots in dark rooms, but that's about it. You guys need to calm down, wait until the movie comes out, don't jump the gun, oh wait you already did.

...not even web-shooters can justify how cheesy this looks.

...and Andrew Garfield looks more like the kid in Superhero Movie then Spiderman! #fail

Exactly, you see, as I said below, it was a comic book for kids and teenagers and the writer(s) could pick and choose whichever characteristics they wanted for their protagonist. That meant making him a normal looking guy with electrostatic finger and toe tips, with a spider sense and mechanical webshooters made him a man just spider enough. For a story where they wanted something horrific to happen to him because of messing with his own body or some other circumstances, it was a good idea to make him mutate and become less human for the purposes of that story.

If Spider-Man had been created in the '90s he probably would have had the talons on his fingers and toes with organic webshooters, liek Miguel O'Hara who was created in the '90s and who knows what he would have been if he had been created nowadays! :)

Oh by the way, "No one batted an eye when the entire first half of Iron Man is basically just Tony Stark tinkering and building THREE FULL SUITS of mechanical armor. Why? Because it had a badass director and a great screenwriter behind it." True but vague...

It worked because seeing Tony build the first suit is and talking to Yinsen is Tony working through the guilt that his now sober realisation of what his weapons have done to the world and to show us he's the sort of man who can function under any conditions and he can build something from practically nothing! Building the Mark II suit with only a computer that could talk back to talk to was more character development and one of the reasons that this big budget film with a single man in a room by himself for a large part of the plot works so well is because of RDJ's charm!

If all that character development wasn't necessary I'm sure that the filmmakers would have saved the valuable screentime and jumped to the Marck III armor.

@Roboto I recall the six arms saga where Spiderman injected himself with a syrum that inhibited the growth of his spider genes causing him to grow extra arms and sets of eyes and become a "spider monster" of sorts so wouldn't that mean his powers not only resemble that of a spiders but come from the DNA of one as well? Just a thought
