Kid Icarus: Uprising
Kid Icarus is a cult game that will receive a third insalment after twenty years. Twenty years is a long ass time. Too long if you ask me, and thats problem with Kid Icarus: Upsing. Being 16, I wasn't there for Kid Icarus or Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters but I have seeked them out, and I have beaten them. Looking at Kid Icarus: Uprising looks to me like a squel only in name. I dosn't look like the classic at all. I know that games Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Donkey Kong 64 altered game play drasticly but there is one differnce between those series and the Kid Icarus series. Those games had evolution and progression. There was nothing leading up to this new version Kid Icarus (unless you count is modle in Super Smash Bros. Brawl). Perhaps if Nintendo had been releasing Kid Icarus games throughout the years I'd except this game without argument but thats not what we have here. Instead we have a game that seems to have no respect for franchise it get it's name sake from. It looks like an amazing game though. I intend to preorder it when I get the chance. I just don't see it doing justice to the original 2 games. I feel like they should have given this game a differnt name. To summarize it's a great looking game that is a sequal only in name.

I don't really understand your complaint. Your complaint is that it's not a 2D side scrolling platformer, but you weren't even alive when that era of gaming existed? Your nostalgia, and don't take this the wrong way, is forced and fake. You have no genuine tie or connection to that era of gaming. You weren't even alive in the 80s when that's all we had. Frankly you should be glad that the game is something fresh and new, and frankly, something more along the lines of what your generation grew up with.
Also remember that until you play a game it's really hard to pass judgement on it and sound credible. You have no idea how the game will handle, how it's story will unfold or what kind of surprises it has in store. We've seen all these cool flying levels but maybe there is a platforming level more like what we'd know from the series.
Also I'd break up your paragraphs. Right now you have a giant block of text. Good focus, no run on sentences, but it's one big block of thought, but there are plenty of chances to break it up, give the reader time to think about what you just said and move on.
Good job so far, and it's good that you're researching old games, but you have to understand that your ties to those games simply exist because you choose for them to, not because you have any real memory of that time, you've never been restricted by that tech in your gaming.

I've only played the first Kid Icarus game, bt I'd say this new one is more of a "reboot" than a sequel, though it could be just me :'D
