Jai Courtney To Play John McClane's Son In 'A Good Day To Die Hard'

There's just no way around it at this point, they are definitely making a fifth 'Die Hard.' I refused to believe it was real for a long time, but it became impossible to ignore once its title was announced. The plot of, sigh, 'A Good Day to Die Hard' will take iconic action hero John McClane out of NYC and even out of the U.S. as he winds up as far away as Russia in his quest to beat down the bad guys. In addition, 'A Good Day to Die Hard' will see McClane teaming with his estranged son Jack; his daughter Lucy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) having already turned up in the fourth installment. So who would play Jack McClane? That honor has just been bestowed upon Australian actor Jai Courtney ('Spartacus: Blood and Sand'). The film is set to begin production in April in preparation for it scheduled February 14th, 2013 release.

Sure, why not bring in the other kid we haven't seen since that photo on Holly's desk in 'Die Hard?' If that is the direction they've decided to take, I don't at all mind Jai Courtney being cast. Full disclosure, I don't remember 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand' too well, don't think I made it all the way through. However, I remember another actor known mostly for his television work that was suddenly thrust into a big action film who preformed quite admirably: some upstart named Bruce Willis back in 1988. I have no reason to doubt Jai Courtney, and given the fact that he's been in a sword-and-sandal action series I'm willing to wager he'll be a far better partner for John McClane than was Justin Long.

What do you guys think? Is anybody looking forward to another 'Die Hard?' What do you think of Jai Courtney as Jack McClane?

That's....a terrible title. I keep seeing a cadaver with an erection in my mind. When did I go back to middle school?

I remember him in Spartacus he was pretty good i also liked his character which might of made me like him more. The guy is built so no doubt they will make him take his shirt off or maybe it will get ripped in some explosion. I didn't hate die hard 4 like some people thought it was ok, only problem was it was PG13 so it had no swearing or great killing scenes. Any chance to see Bruce Willis kick ass is alright with me.
