Coming off of her unfortunate "wardrobe malfunction" last week on Good Morning America (a performance that's induced wrathful, ire-ridden statements from the Parents Television Council), vocalist Nicki Minaj has been added to the voice cast for Blue Sky Studios fourth installment in the 'Ice Age' series, entitled 'Ice Age: Continental Drift'. Along with Nicki "NicSlip" Minaj, her fellow label mate Drake has also been given a voice role in the film, which reunites the regular cast of Ray Romano, Queen Latifa, Denis Leary, and John Leguizamo.

In the film, Manny, Diego, and Sid embark upon their next adventure after a massive cataclysm sets an entire continent adrift. Separated from the rest of the herd, they use an iceberg as a makeshift ship and launch upon an epic seafaring quest. Manny and the gang are challenged like never before to become heroes and do the impossible, as they encounter exotic sea creatures, explore a brave new world, and battle ruthless pirates. As with previous films, 'Continental Drift' will be peppered throughout with short vignettes starring Scrat and his obsessive compulsion toward nuts. (heads out of the gutter, kids...)

Directed by previous short animation directors Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier, the 20th Century Fox-distributed film also features voice acting from a slew of celebrities - Josh Peck, Seann William Scott, Aziz Ansari, Wanda Sykes, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lopez, and Joy Behar to name a few. The film is set for release on July 13th, 2012.

I might end up seeing this, but definitely not for Minaj and Drake...although there are some pretty cool people in this. I'm curious how Aziz Ansari's character will turn out. Also Jeremy Renner is awesome, but I wonder if he will have a normal voiced character, or if he will happen to have a funny-voiced character and not sound like him much. Wanda Sykes is pretty much born for voice-over work lol. You hear her say one word and you say "thats Wanda Sykes".

Dammit, I had such high hopes for Drake. It took Ice Cube a whole decade before officially selling out.
