If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Longleke posted a discussionI'm already a sucker for period gangster movies, but when you go throwing in Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, and Gary Oldman with a freaking Tommy gun, I am all kinds of excited. Such are the promises made by this first trailer for John Hillcoat's 'Lawless.' Based on a true story, this film centers on a bootlegging gang (lead by Hardy and Shia LaBeouf) who must contend with a new special deputy (played by Guy Pearce) out for their heads. The trailer features plenty of fisticuffs, shootouts, and bizarre accents...well just Pearce's bizarre accent, but still. I can't wait to see this. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
'Lawless' hits theaters August 31st

Comment by Grand Master Bushido Brown on April 25, 2012 at 3:48pm I loved Shia and I think he's a good actor. It bothers me he kind of turned into an asshole. Anyway this looks awesome. Gary Oldman here reminds me of his character in Leon the Professional.
Comment by Samuel on April 25, 2012 at 3:18pm Yay! Gary Oldman goes evil again!
Comment by TheDarkKnightWing on April 25, 2012 at 2:46pm Dang. Hardy and Oldman must like each other alot. Tinker, Tailor, The Dark Knight Rises, and now this.
Comment by C.H. Gorog on April 25, 2012 at 2:43pm Sounds awesome
Comment by Cman5000 on April 25, 2012 at 2:27pm Finally! shi LeBeouf gets to show how good of an actor he is insted of shouting for optimus.
Comment by NotInWater on April 25, 2012 at 2:17pm I don't get all the hate for LeBeouf. Sure, Transformers sucks, but that's not really his fault. He wasn't bad in Disturbia, and he was pretty good in Eagle Eye (despite how many feel about that movie). And he pretty good in Wall Street 2. I think he's a fine actor who can hold his own. I'm actually glad he's getting to broaden his horizon and possibly challenge himself with a role like this. Would love to see him start doing roles where he can really expand his talent.
Comment by Lt. Commander Armstrong on April 25, 2012 at 2:12pm I can't be the only one who saw the title and thought, "Oh shit! Are they finally adapting Ed Brubaker's Criminal series?" Sadly no, but this looks interesting too.
Comment by Dario Sebastian Salazar-Avila on April 25, 2012 at 2:04pm First. And also, finally, a film where Shia LaBeouf is cool!
Comment by Obscene Otter on April 25, 2012 at 2:02pm Great, except for LaBeouf. I think Guy Pierce and Gary Oldman seem perfect for this
