The wait is over, the first trailer for Shane Black's 'Iron Man 3' has arrived. I gotta say, it was well-worth the wait. The trailer is bold, epic, and gloriously cinematic while at the same time seemingly more visceral and bleak than the first two films. It's clear Tony Stark is in for a grueling personal trial in his first post-'Avengers' adventure. I like the subtle continuity at work in the line, "nothing's been the same since New York." Excited doesn't even begin to sum up my overwhelming anticipation for this movie. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'Iron Man 3' hits theaters May 3rd, 2013

Listen guys. I only read 9 pages of this comments war. Dark knight, broken mask, etc....a movie can't please everybody. We all want to see different things! I'm not a deep thinker like some of you with the paragraph comments and attacks at each other. I will admit there are good points on both sides. This allowed me to get off my trailer high and think. But you guys are going too far. When it comes out we will see.

Can't wait for it!

The armor War Machine is wearing is the Iron Patriot armor from the comics (COMPLETELY different character) it's just going to be a nod to the fans. It looks like it'll be fine for one or two scenes, but if that is going to be his armor for the ENTIRE movie, then I will hate.

Music is great

WHY THE FUCK DOES WAR MACHINE LOOK LIKE A FLAG? I said flag

I am really unsure with this, almost looks like they want to do the broken and thought to be dead story..very um Dark Knight ish

@BLU Year

I actually had about the same problems with the trailer too, lol, I just didn't want to be "that guy" lol. But in my earlier comment, I did at least say that the final shot of Tony walking through the snow looked ackward too. I was waiting for something to happen, and I really wasn't sure if it was supposed to be serious or funny, and instead that final shot was just kind of there.

So is Tony able to control the 'suits' using that headgear?

I hate to be "that guy" but I'm not sure how I feel about this. Apart from the great looking set pieces, color palette and visuals I'm skeptical of the rest of the trailer. It just isn't that effective. Tony's dialogue seems to be either chopped together from varying parts of the script or it lacks the physical context of a performance and situation to make it seem comfortable  The music I also think is rather standard as the trailer goes on. Perhaps too much. I don't really appreciate the dub-step part of it either but hopefully the score is effective in the final product. I think the Mandarin's voice is uneven adn frankly a bit cartoony. Again, maybe the context will help one the movie comes out. And that final misplaced scene of tony walking in the snow is just awkward.

What I'm trying to say is that I think the trailer lacks a good grasp of pacing. Regardless, I'm looking forward to it in talent alone. Hope it delivers.
