Noomi Rapace reteams with her 'Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo' director Niels Arden Oplev for 'Dead Man Down.' The film, also starring Colin Farrell and Terrence Howard, revolves around a syndicate enforcer (Farrell) out to avenge the murder of his wife and daughter. The first trailer for the movie has just arrived and, I gotta say, it looks pretty freaking cool. Low-key, gritty crime action/thrillers are a favorite of mine. Plus, if the original 'Dragon Tattoo' is any indication, Oplev has a flair for thrillers. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'Dead Man Down' hits theaters March 8th

Timing is everything.  I just saw Farrell and Howard in Hart's War (good movie btw) it's amazing that this is the first time they've reunited onscreen in almost 10 years.

@Alan Hall as Hallzzz...

She ain't anymore. She got a divorce from that assassin guy from Skyfall. You know they picked their own last name when they got married?

@Captain Bobo

Replace Colin with any actor you can think of, and I'll still feel that this does not seem all that great.

I LOVE me some Noomi Rapace... too bad she's ringed.

+10 for the Pink Floyd song. But I'm with these other guys saying that Farrell is unfairly singled out for criticism. In Bruges, Fright Night, Horrible Bosses. All great choices by Farrell. I never watched the Total Recall reboot so I don't know whether or not that was a step back. But it's getting so that I trust him to find great roles, directors and costars to work with. This looks like it might be another good choice for Farrell.

@Captain Bobo I am with you. Colin Farrell is given way more crap then he deserves and I would love to see him play in a strait action role again. Terrence Howard will make this interesting as well to see if he can play a villain or not. I am a fan of more moody action flicks with some feeling and this seems to have it. Maybe that just comes with not being a 16 year old lad anymore

Man. I feel like everyone gives Colin Farrell a bad rap. He seems to always put in good performances. Last thing I saw him in was Fright Night, and that was great. Same thing with Horrible Bosses. And this looks pretty fun too. I'm a big fan of film noir, and this seems to have some of those elements in it. Unless that's just the way they're selling it in this trailer...

And this seems like a neat little twist. From what I can tell from the trailer, it seems like this guy has actually moved on from his family's death. Then he gets blackmailed into going back and taking revenge for not only himself, but for this other girl too. Plus, it seems like Terrance Howard looks like a fun mustache twirling villain.

@Monocle Bane

So you want a revenge movie without the reason for a revenge? Huh.
