First Look At King Thranduil From 'The Hobbit'
One of the distinguishing features of any Tolkien story is the complexity and variety of its characters. For 'The Hobbit,' which as you know will now be three films, several new characters will be introduced. One such character is King Thranduil of the elves. Thranduil is actually the father of Legolas (played in the Peter Jackson 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy by Orlando Bloom). Actor Lee Pace ('The Fall') will be taking on the role of Thranduil in the film. Recently, these first image of Pace as Thranduil hit the web. Take a look at the images below and let us know what you think.

Does he have ice skates on? I know Tolkien elves are supposed to be serene, elegant, and beautiful, but I never imagined they'd be so sparkly.
