After the abysmal critical failure of 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine,' when word broke that the studio was planning on revisiting that universe, I have to admit I rolled my eyes and walked away. However, the more I learn about Wolverine through my admittedly meager forays into the comics, the more I hope beyond hope that 'The Wolverine' does justice to the character. Lately there has been a lot of buzzing around the internet as the film readies for production. Now we have our first glimpse at the set of the movie. Not a lot to go on here, but we do see a model of what appears to be a Japanese WWII POW camp and the cross-section of a stone well. Again, not the most exciting pics in the universe, but a nice little taste of the film nonetheless.

'The Wolverine' looks to claw its way into theaters July 26th, 2013

@ Waylander

It's probably good that you pointed that out, otherwise people probably would've thought she's some obscure B-grade villain with poor wardrobe chioces that they dug out of the old Marvel A-Z (Madame Ginger? Lady Orangutan?). But I suppose to us Aussies, she is a villain of sorts (depending on which way your bread is buttered) — damn you, carbon tax!

Why is this even being made still? After all the awesome comic book movies that have came out in the last year?? This doesn't have a chance.

so this is a reboot? because xmen origin just sucked

Comment by Jon Riddle on July 26, 2012 at 11:33am

Nothing to see here - still, I think the production crew would have to make a conscious effort to make a mutant superhero movie that was as terrible as X-men Origins: Wolverine.

Yup. They're making it alright.

Am I the only one who doesnt give a shit about set images?

so the prime minister is going to be a part of the movie? interesting...

Im guessing James Mangold is gonna make Wolvie 'Walk The Line' even if it takes him 'Knight & Day'.

Comment by Waylander on July 25, 2012 at 8:26pm

LOL brian I think you missed a KEY component in this story, which is that these shots were taken when the prime minister of Australia (Julia Gillard, the chick in the orange jacket in the first photo) went to visit the set.
