As you probably recall, Paramount is rebooting the Jack Ryan character with an all new film to be directed by Kenneth Branaugh ('Thor'). The new movie, simply titled 'Jack Ryan,' will star Chris Pine as the famed CIA agent and will be a prequel to all of the Tom Clancy novels in which Ryan appears. Recently, this first image from the set appeared online. It shows Pine astride a motorcycle cruising through Manhattan's streets. It doesn't give us a concrete idea of what the movie will look like, but it's a nice appetizer. Take a look at the image below and let us know what you think.

'Jack Ryan' hits theaters December 25th, 2013

Clancy has so many other cool books,..why 'make one up',..and a preQuel at that?!

I wanna see Debt of Honor, heck , Rainbow Six,..Bear & the Dragon,..!

But don't water it down and change the bad guys to be politically correct :p

Tell it like it is, yo!

@Dmitri Rivera Jack Ryan is pretty much the badass CIA agent who plays some sort of constant hand throughout a good portion of the Tom Clancy Novels. He eventually becomes President of the United States himself and has a son who take after him or something.

I'm not really sure if the novels actually had specific time periods but they were all mostly "what if" scenarios so I guess having a movie about Jack Ryan taking place in today's society could makes sense.

I don't the average movie goer was aware of Jason Bourne before the movies either so I wouldn't brush this one off to easily. Then again I'm rather indifferent to this news. I'm pretty sure die hard Clancy fans are thrilled/sarcastically thrilled.

The generic sounding title aside, at least the film makers were smart enough this time to create a prequel story separate from the books instead of turning one of the books into a prequel (The Sum of All Fears with Ben Affleck).

Oh boy, a reboot and a prequel, both for the price of one.

@Microshock: Jack Ryan's been portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck... So he has a tad more exposure than John Carter did.
