First Footage From Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

I'm so excited to see Quentin Tarantino's new film 'Django Unchained' that I'm even willing to sit through the horrendous voice-overs and cheeseball editing of Entertainment Tonight to get a glimpse of the first widely available footage of the movie. Apparently, this bumper serves as a teaser for the full trailer, which should be released sometime later this week. From what little we see, the movie looks to be a fairly silly romp, but one that doesn't skimp on the fun. We'll bring you the full trailer once it hits. Take a look at this first footage and let us know what you think.

'Django Unchained' hits theaters December 25th

@A Man Called Hawk - I have to disagree with you. Waltz may "save" Django and show him the ropes of killing people, but watching him whip a white man (which I loved), call another one "boy," and express how much he relishes killing white people isn't typical to "White Savior" stories. Also, if this film follows Spaghetti Western formula, his mentor will end up dead and he'll ramp up the murder on his own.

Tarantino is the man who made sympathetic Nazis in an action flick and who constantly produces strong, sincere female characters in an industry rife with misogyny. I'm not too worried about how he'll handle the subjects of race and slavery in this film.

The modern song is Payback by James Brown, so it's not entirely indulgent

@DarkProphet94

Agree, but I love the Inglourious Basterds trailer music, because it implied epicness and violence and ghostly faces on fire. That was a dance song playing in the trailer. Should have just stayed with Johnny Cash.

Love that tag line. LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF VENGENCE!

@Samuel

The Inglorious Bastards trailer had modern music too, and the actual score for the film was pretty good, so Im assuming this is just a marketing problem

The one problem I have with the trailer is the modern music. I really hope he drops it for the film, and just sticks to Ennio Morricone.

But I don't believe it is going to be a white savior film.
