If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Longleke posted a discussionI can't tell you how long I've been waiting to see 'The Cabin in the Woods,' the nearly lost horror film from writer/director Drew Goddard (who also wrote 'Cloverfield') and producer/co-writer Joss Whedon (of 'Firefly' and 'Buffy' fame). When the poster was recently released, it seemed that we were finally going to get a release date that stuck. This now seems even more certain with the release of the film's first trailer. I must warn you, this trailer appears to give away a major secret about 'The Cabin in the Woods;' namely the plot point that allows it to separate itself from other cabin-in-the-woods horror films. If you prefer to go into this as blind as possible, as I strongly encourage that you do, please do not watch this trailer. However, there are those among you who are not phased by spoilery trailers and I didn't want to deprive you of your chance to see it. Check it out below, but again be aware that there are SPOILERS AFOOT!

Comment by Cordaline on December 8, 2011 at 12:05pm I'm glad to see Fran Kranz in something. He was great in Dollhouse. I love how loyal Whedon is to his actors. It might be ok, if anything Whedon's comedic banter will be fun.
Yawn. It's like if instead of just showing a clip from The Evil Dead, Scream actually ripped it off. Hope this tanks.
What is it with teenagers wanting to go to some extremely remote, run down spooky place to party? Even with the warning they receive from the erie gas station attendent they press on. I've watched enough of these movies to know that if my firends invite me out to some spot that doesnt show up on GPS because its so remote, that means its not meant to be found for some reason.
Comment by keh006 on December 7, 2011 at 12:23am Its hilarious to see Thor lost in nowhere again, even acting the same way.
Comment by illchard on December 7, 2011 at 12:15am Thor!
well if the trailer didn't show the pivotal point of the film, then it looks like your typical "cabin in the woods" film. I think they almost had to show it. But a better editor would've cut the length of this trailer and only show 1/10 of that spoiler.
Comment by whitewizard on December 6, 2011 at 7:42pm not really seeing where the spoiler comes in.
chances are this secret gets tossed into the first 30 minutes right after we get the obligatory look at the pretty people, they are surrounded by pretty scenery, and a crazy local an ooOOH MY GOD WHY ARE YOU CHOPPING OFF MY LEG!!!
Comment by Composite Who Horrible on December 6, 2011 at 6:54pm Hmmm... I kind of like it, especially if the spoiler point has a dramatic purpose... But I have my doubts it will.
Comment by GorTheMovieGod on December 6, 2011 at 5:38pm I am not going to watch the trailer but most likely I will have to if it is in my theater.
