Parody 'Monsters University' Promotional Video

I'm still not real comfortable with the idea of another Pixar sequel that doesn't have the words 'Toy Story' in front of it, but nevertheless, I dig this piece of viral marketing for 'Monsters University.' What Pixar has done is take those obnoxious community college TV ads you see late at night and re-purposed one as an advertisement for the titular school in which Sully (John Goodman) and Mike (Billy Crystal) find themselves in this precursor to 'Monsters, Inc.' What I like about the video is that, while clearly animated, they don't reveal the monsters until the very end so it has a certain air of legitimacy up until the joke is revealed. Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think.

'Monsters University' hits theaters June 21st, 2013

Hope the film is as good as it's advertised. As a Community College student, this was pretty damn good.

I feel like Brave accomplished what Pixar was going for. As disappointing as it was, I honestly don't see how they could mess this movie up.  They have the first movie as a template for humor, unlike brave. My problem is that Pixar isn't as funny as it used to be. I noticed a steady decline of humor starting with Up through Toy Story 3

The marketing for this film is GREAT!

Cars 2 proved that Pixar just can't do a sequel to all of their films. However, let's hope their first try with a prequel works just as well as their first try withn a sequel (Toy Story 2).

Out of all the Pixar films, I think Monsters Inc. is the PERFECT choice for a prequel. Movies like Wall-E would probably be to depressing to have a prequel, lol.

But I agree, a sequel to The Incredibles is WAY overdue.

as cute as the ad is, i'm still a little weary of pixar after brave and cars 2. I really don't know why they just don't do The incredibles 2?! Thats just begging for a sequel (a good sequel btw)

Oh God, those ads. I hope they keep with this campaign and make more of these. Or parody those college sex comedy trailers.

Ok, as a college (grad school) student this tickled my funny bone. Let us hope the trend continues.

Also, yes we know Cars 2 sucked can we get over it already?

They have marketed this film really good. I'm excited to see the film.
