Speaking exclusively to
Empire Magazine, Guillermo Del Toro spoke regarding the eagerly-awaited adaptation of the Lord Of The Rings prequel, The Hobbit, which until recently it was believed would comprise two movies, one being
The Hobbit, and the other being a sort of bridge film between
The Hobbit and LOTR.
Del Toro however, officially denies this.
“We’ve decided to have The Hobbit span the two movies, including the White Council and the comings and goings of Gandalf to Dol Guldur," said Del Toro
"We decided it would be a mistake to try to cram everything into one movie,” adds Jackson. “The essential brief was to do The Hobbit, and it allows us to make The Hobbit in a little more style, if you like, of the [LOTR] trilogy.”

So there you go, the films will have more from
Unfinished Tales and the Appendixes which will hopefully make for a great story.

For those of you interested there is a fan film, due to be released in May called
The Hunt For Gollum, which follows Aragorn's search for Gollum which details what would have been the central part of the bridge film had it been made.
