If it's crap ... We'll tell you
In this our 45th episode of the Braingasm Podcast we are Ben-less (RECORD SCRATCH). Cesca took the big chair and ran the episode with help from Cavalcade of Idiots member Vincent (@theshiny1). We were also joined by the man of the hour, Santa Claus who took some time out of his busy schedule to sit in with us and answer some questions/just hang out.
We began as we do every week with Cesca saying welcome to the Braingasm podcast.
After that we talked about What's Been Filling Our Voids. Vincent put down his usual colouring book and moved to a new section of the bookstore in his discussion of Jason Reitman's new film Young Adult. After that Santa revealed himself to be a bit of a movie buff in his discussion of two movies. The Hangover 2 ended up on the naughty list but Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows ended up on the nice list. Finally, Cesca brought the heat (and her back brace) so that she could encapsulate all that she loved about the season finale of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it as she goes into very specific detail about the second part.
After the break we heard from our new ho ho homie Santa Claus is a little Q & A. Topics covered include his history with hallucinogenic drugs, the replacement of his elves, and how he is able to get into houses on Christmas Eve. He actually told us exactly how he is able to deliver all the presents in one night but unfortunately we had a technical difficulty and lost the last part of the interview.
Remember when I said that this episode would be Ben-less? Well I should have said it will feature less Ben as our intrepid quarterback returned to the field for the second half of the show. We played a round of Made Up Movie Thing with the twist being that all of the movies had to be Christmas themed. After that we tried something new in a weird variation of Made Up Movie Thing wherein each player contributes one thing to the plot of the same movie in an effort to make the other players mess up. It will make a return in the future.
I'm happy that we were able to do not one but two christmas episodes this year and I look forward to all of the Christmases that we will surely spend together going forward. Happy Holidays folks.
