I define black film as a film that follows the perspective of a black character. You can have black directed movies with white characters and its just a film. But, if you have a film about black people and if its filmed through a white perspective then its also just a film. For example; The Color Purple while Directed by Spielberg is a black film but The Help starring mostly black people and about black life is just a film because it is told through Emma Stone. Agree?

Black Film? ...Wow, this will be an interesting challenge. Black film simply a film that ranges from touching the life of an African American (Killer of Sheep would be an example of this) or being a stereotypical jive talking film about jive talking black people.
