IESB has learned exclusively that Warner Bros. is lining up a director for another high profile DC character: The Flash.

The outlet says that Greg Berlanti is the leading contender to helm the movie.

Berlanti wrote Green Lantern with Marc Guggenheim and was once attached to direct the film before WB settled on Martin Campbell.

Hey Gift to magic...kind of sounds like you were offended by my post...I in no way was trying to offend anyone..I'm just speaking the truth and can I repeat majority of the movie goers aren't comic book fans..what planet do you live on where you think everyone reads comic books...I guarantee that the most known GL is John Stewart .Go look at Spill's post about the superman and batman movie comparison and what picture they show of the JLA and guess wwho is the GL John Stewart...I don't know why you don't want to admit it probably because of your own problems...put it like this if you think they are going to make 3 movies with Hal Jordan as GL you seriously have lost your mind..and let me vote that Green Lantern will be the failure of all these comic book movies coming out...cmon Ryan Reynolds a superhero don't make me laugh..

ThatBoyK-O, sorry but you're wrong. John Steward IS NOT the most known Green Lantern....that only applies to the fanboys of the Justice League cartoon series. Hal is still the most widely known Lantern and thanks to his rebirth is showing new fans what he's made of. Also, we already had a direct-to-DVD release with Hal, prepping newer fans to who he is. Those that think GL is only John Steward are NOT comic fans, just kids that barely read and watch too many cartoons. They'll learn.

However, Jesse D has a point. The likelihood of a JLA film right now is LOW....we may be years off from it. It's more likely we'll get single movies on the major players (cheaper than paying all those stars at once). If you are concerned about other races not being represented in comics or movies, than maybe you should push for films starting them (Black Panther, Brother Voodoo, War Machine, Storm, Power Man, Black Lightning, Mr. Terrific, Static Shock, Falcon, Deathlok, Spawn, etc) or MAYBE start creating character on your own. Make your own comic book. CREATE somthing ratherthan hoping that some african-american version of your favorite character gets a film.

They're never going to make a Justice League movie anyway so the point is moot.

I understand what you guys are saying Sean and Gift....but the truth of the matter is lets be realistic...You actually think they are going to make a Justice League movie with all white superheros get real..they will try to get as many people of all races into the theater as possible and the most known Green Lantern is John Stewart..people that don't follow the comics (which is way more than people who follow the comics) are not going to know who the hell Hal Jordan is and I have even seen comments on the internet of people saying "I thought the Green Lantern was black"..Now I hate to make something like this about race because I have friends of all ethnic backgrounds but I'm just keeping it real..If they put all white superheros their going to get some backlash I promise you that...It's all about money in hollywood people and they will want to get more black people into the theater and what better way than to watch one of our own put up to superhero status...Just think when the toys come out honestly if they use the black Green Lantern what toy do you think the black parents are going to buy their children of course I don't even have to say it...Why do you think in the movies they are using black characters more...Like Batman Morgan Freeman's character...Transformers Jazz and Tyrese...Percy Jackson- Grover...Ironman-Don Cheadle and many more..this is how they make money you think these companies don't think race plays a factor to ticket sales..have yall forgotten that it is more Hispanic Americans and African Americans then Caucasion Americans in this country...So I think they are going to use the black Green Lantern I bet you they are...and I vote Idris Elba

I wonder if they will go with their plan for the Justice League movie and cast Adam Brody for the part...

I meant on the Justice league roster. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. Though I do know Alan Scott came first and was on the precursor team, The Justice Society of America. But the fact of the matter remains, John Stewert came after Hal Jordan. Maybe if there's a sequel, we might get John Stewert, and maybe Guy Gardner, but right now it looks like the only other lanterns we'll get are of the Extraterrestrial variety.

Sean....ummm....errr....Hal was not the first Green Lantern. It was Alan Scott.

I'm sorry to say Thatboy, but that seems unlikely. John Stewert might have been the Green Lantern you and plenty of other people were introduced to, but the fact of the matter is Hal was there first. I'm gonna let Moviebob take over for now, since I think he'll explain things better than I can.

If they make the Justice League movie and don't have the black Green Lantern all hell is going to break loose...that would be blasphemy a crime and a sin....so in the Green Lantern movie have your fun Ryan Reynolds or whoever but by the end of the movie hand the ball off to the Brother so we can get this party started like its supposed to be...
