Beautiful Trailer For Ang Lee's 'Life of Pi'

I'm still not sure how I feel about Ang Lee as a filmmaker. I liked 'The Ice Storm,' and 'Brokeback Mountain' is great, but I'm not a big fan of 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and 'Hulk' is abysmal. All that being said, I am really interested in his latest movie 'Life of Pi.' I hadn't heard anything about it, but when I watched this trailer, I was absolutely hooked; gorgeous visuals and what appears to be an epic, coming-of-age story. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'Life of Pi' hits theaters November 21st

Haha, "When all you've ever known is LOST"

I see what you did there, trailer. :D

I read the book in high school. I remember trying to visualize it as a movie and failing. Practically the whole thing takes place on that boat.

But the cinematography looks gorgeous and the book was really good. I'll probably check it out.

It's almost like "The Lovely Bones" or any given Terrence Malick film without the tedium mixed with "Cast Away" without the island, an Indian boy in Tom Hanks' place and a tiger in Wilson's place. Seriously though, this, like quite a few upcoming films of this year, looks very promising, and I look foward to it. Hopefully, 2012 will make up for the underwhelming 2011.

@Lt. Commander Armstrong

Don't worry. There is so much more to the story than you get from the trailer.

I'm really suprised they're including the meerkat island in the movie tho.

Fuck, another movie where they will make me care about an animal and then will probably kill it by the end. Almost every time a movie has an animal sidekick they kill it.

Ang Lee is a versatile visionary and I'm always looking forward to his projects.

I like Ang Lee as a director, though he isn't one of my favourite, and I've always heard good things about this book. Looks very beautiful and interesting. I'm in.
