Bane's Voice Leaked From 'Dark Knight Rises' Filming
Bane's voice was leaked while the crew was filming in Heinz football stadium in Pittsburgh, and the voice is not at all what you would expect. For those who want to watch the video, it's right here, but just be aware that there are some mild spoilers.
Reports indicate that the scene is as follows: The Gotham City Rogues are running the ball when all of a sudden huge explosions are set off through out the field. Several of the players and referees are killed, and only a small segment of the field remains up while the rest looks like a crater. Bane comes through the tunnel on the side of the stadium with what looks to be a huge spherical explosive device. Bane's mercenaries run out, pointing their guns at the crowd, making sure no one leaves. Bane picks up one of the dead referees' microphone and delivers a speech. He screams "Gotham! Take control! Take control of your city! This...This is the instrument of your liberation!" (accounts say he points at the device with him). He then takes a hostage from the field and drops him to his knees, telling him to identify himself to the world. The scene then cuts.
Bane is heard at 0:42 seconds.
Bane sounds like an old, dying British man. This is not at all what most of us expected. This isn't a final cut thought, so we should expect his voice to be dubbed in the film. I'm growing fond of Nolan's interpretation of the character. It's ironic that he's such a powerful and ruthless figure, yet he sounds like he's dying with that mask on. Didn't like it much at the first listening, but it's growing on me. Let me know what you guys think of Hardy and Nolan's take of the character.
