I had an inherent interest in seeing this movie because I really enjoy Bob Dylans music. I think he is definitely worth of films being made about him. But not this film.
The movie revolves around Dylans 7 personas throughout his career. It jumps from one to the other so quickly that I had no idea what was going on. What really pissed me off was the fact that only one actor's speech was decipherable. They all mumbled. It was ridiculous.
The films saving grace is Cate Blanchett. I could actually understand what she was saying and she made the other people playing dylan look like schmucks. This chicks got the goods.
I really wanted this movie to be good. I really did.
It was over the top artsy (i like artsy but not this artsy), there was no logical continuity and the characters never completed their arcs (besides cate blanchett).
Fuck this movie. You suck Todd Haynes.

That's disappointing to hear. Still, I really love Todd Haynes and a lot of other people I know liked it so I think I'll still check this one out for myself (eventually).
